Get the tune for the Jardine. It tends to lean out the fueling a LOT. With a proper tune, it will run pretty good. Keep the gel seat. The stocker works for some, not for others. Change the oils, and put gas and tires on it. I think by that year the wheel bearing issues were well taken care of. Check them every tire change. Get a service manual. Do the work yourself, and save the $. As long as you don't mind being intimate with yer scoot.

Change the fluids and ride the he11 out of it!!!

Oh! Pics please!!!!!

After you have taken care of an initial safety check... Grab ya Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, a full tank of fuel, head for an open highway......

and ride.. you won't regret it.
oh.. welcome to Badweb.

First and foremost- set the suspension per the owner's manual!

Personal preference really. I run diesel oil 15-40 in the swing arm. Changed every 2000 miles. If I buy the oil in bulk, it costs me about $6 per oil change. I run the H-D recommended stuff in the primary. It's expensive ($7 a quart), but you only need one, and I change that every 5000 miles or so. I'm going to be doing fork oil here soon.
Lots of people here like the full synthetic too. I may switch to that this season, and see how I like it. Dunno yet. I still have 1 oil change left of diesel oil. YMMV

welcome to badweb! i love mine more than my fiancée! but at least she knows it. lol please, post some pictures. once i get back, we should get together and go for a ride sometime. make sure you set the suspension correctly. i had a hard time getting used to mine until i set it. once i did, i didn't have to think, the bike did what i wanted as soon as i could think it. enjoy the ride!

you should know where harley davidson is for sure. Get to know the mechanics really really good. You'll probably be seing them atleast every 3 months if you dont know alot about bikes. If you know how to work on bikes, or are mechanically inclined you've got a GREAT BIKE. These great machines, like most, are far from maintenence free.
