Well if things don't go well on e-bay, I will be forced to remove the stock muffler from my 12r to get it converted to a Drummer. I took a look and removal looks straight forward.

1) Remove chin fairing
2) Unbolt the front strap
3) Remove sprocket cover (?) and unbolt the rear strap.
4) Unbolt at the clamp to the header.

How does the interactive exhaust come into play? Is there a wire. I don't have a service manual. Once I get the Drummer, what do I do with the interactive exhaust connection?

once you get it down you will see the cable, you may have to pop the air box cover off and loosen the cable at that end first so that you can remove the one on the muffler. then zip the cable up somewhere out of the way of harm..and you should be good ...

That method will set the CE light. You can build a circuit that eliminates this problem. You could also get a race ECM.

M1 no that won't set the CE light as long as he keeps the stepper motor plugged into the ecm.If he gets the race ECM he can pull the stepper motor out and not worry about CE light anyways.

Buckin did you guys think about a two path Drummer ala 12 style? Could there be any improvement in that for those with stock 12 ecms? Just curious. Thanks.

I asked about it before and they said there would be no benifit over the current Drummer. I would really like a dual outlet Drummer though.. That's the only thing that keeps tugging at me WRT the D&D.

Uni
M1 is right, because of the size of the drummer inside and everything it wouldn't matter, also the valve is there to make the best stock pipe they can. If Manufactures didn't have to play by govt. rules.....there would be no aftermarket. They would come with great pipes straight from the factory.

they use that valve because of restrictions they must live by.
