Spray from the clutch?....

: )

One of the funniest Buell stories ever when we were at Daytona in 1997.

Remind me to tell you someday.

It can happen...pressure and a blocked tranny vent make the housing of the clutch cable the path of least resistance.

HINT: Bad idea to be in the middle of your "they may have leaked oil years ago, but that's all history" talk just as your S-1 pukes a load of oil on your nice white shirt.

There is a tube that comes off the back of the top of the transmission, close to the starter. Trace it back and make sure it is not kinked / plugged (as Court suggests).

If it is not, are you spraying tranny fluid out the pipe in back as well? Could be a crank seal (not a big deal to fix).

Up and down play in the clutch lever is normal. Every bike I've sat on does that.

Tripper, is that from a blown rocker box gasket?

ya i know but this is probly an inch or so
ALOT more than ive ever seen anyway
well maby 3/4 of an inch
both my neighbors bikes have ZERO play in them
but then again there clutches are 10 times easier to pull

No, a simple cap blow off. You'd think they could figure out a screw on device. Oh, I guess they have, I'm just too cheap to buy it.
