I want to take my wife out on the bike but was wondering about the suspension settings. I have the book and me being at 185 and her maybe 110 puts the settings pretty high. I was thinking of putting them in the middle and leaving them instead of switching back and forth. Thoughts? How will my ride very?

Keep the damping the same, just change preload so your sag in front is about 35mm, the rear about 25mm. You'll be pretty close for a start. Small tweaks and after a few rides, record your settings to make switching back-and-forth very simple.

It only takes a few minutes to set it up properly. It makes a world of difference. The first, non-adjusted, ride was a nightmare on my arms during breaking. There was too much dive. There was also too much squat when accelerating. I always set mine up correctly now. It's a safety thing for me. I made a copy of the suspension setting chart, laminated it, and I keep it in the tool bag.

One more important thing is that setting it up correctly will keep your headlights pointed at the ground, instead of the clouds.
