Bought some 1125R forks for my '03 XB9R what do I need to know to make these work?

Just change the lower tree to a newer style one?

I hear you can run an XB-X lower tree for more rake? what difference will this make? I have a chain drive with one of Hals swingarms, so its already a little longer then stock, will the XB-X lower tree make it to long?

anything else? height differences or anything?

I have done a few searches but no one seems 100%

Here is a thread that might help.

I would like to do the same but I am left with more questions than answers.

Different fork width spacing between 1125 and XB. You must switch triple clamps as well as fork tubes to put 1125 forks on an XB. You cannot put on an upper 1125 triple clamp on an XB lower, unless you are OK with bending the forks!

from the other thread it sounds like 1125 upper and lower triples are not compatible with XB frames or forks.

so much for the easy way....

i thought that 1125 triples did not work on XB frames, due to bearing differences and frame differences. Could you verify?

Thank you

I recall a post on here that stated the 1125 spacing was 1mm wider than the XB. Wasn't specific if that was total of per side from center.

Couldn't shave .5mm off the lower fork where it meets the wheel bearing?

Hmmm... that would move the caliper out of alignment...

Could shave .5mm off the bearing face and the caliper mount?

Anony... Wasn't there a significant (show stopper) difference with the lower triple? Different steering stop or something like that?

Just my $0.02 and I can't speak for your desired budget but I'd go with billet triples...if your beefing up the forks it would be an advantage to also beef what holds them.

my goal is actually a GPR damper, I really want a radial unit instead of my LSL so I can have dual rates and more importantly so I can use my front stand again without removing the damper every time.

with my current setup I of clubman bars I cant use the lightning option so I hoped with the CR top triple I could mount the CR version on my bike, if I need a bottom too than no problem so long as it works.
if I need forks too Ill have to think of something different because that's out of my price range. that and I am very happy with my race spring setup and don't really want to change what is working so well for me.

for a visual

do I have any other options?

I want to take advantage of the 1125 forks that E B R has for sale. It's a good deal and I would have the black forks that I want.

Anonymous : We understand that we can't mix and match, we just need a little clarification. What do we need to do to fit the triples? Also no offense to the frog man , but was the info he provided incorrect?

Thanks,
Bart

I've done my best to NOT e-mail or call them as I know they're very busy with much bigger fish to fry.

That is great but IF we can get these
http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/product143.html

with virtually no down time, no wear, new parts, fresh black anodize and bolt in it is really a great deal. Triples can be had for cheap to make matters easier.
This is not to mention the opportunity to support the advancement of the Buell independence without the h-d hemorrhoid.

But they don't seem to be bolt in do they.

Couldn't you put these inside the stock forks?
http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/product12.html

If not those there should be a set that does fit in the stock forks. Nothing mystical about the cartridge style upgrades, they don't need to come from E B R to work since they are just Showa parts. Find a set that fit and go for it.

Attack Performance makes them for the XB but your application is not standard.
You may want to contact American Sport Bike as he will likely know who can help.

They might actually bolt in with the correct combination of parts. That is the reason for attempting to pick the brain of the anonymous poster.

As far as the link you posted it is for the 1125 with 47mm forks. If it fits that great and would save a great deal of headache, but I doubt it will. Not to mention that there are three styles of forks used on the XB's 41mm, 43mm & the 2009-2010 forks. This is not counting the 47mm Uly forks. The other cartridge kits I have found are much more expensive in comparison, but if you have any suggestion I am all ears.

I would however like to know the internal differences in the 1125 & Uly components.

I have a set of forks with AK20 carts in them, so those are 20 mm. I haven't heard of people using 25 mm's in these forks, but who knows...
