Hi guys

I dropped my STT at the HD dealer here in Cincinnati as it was leaking from front/rear rocker boxes. Now the question. It is a MY07 and I got it as new leftover last year in june so I assume the defect is covered by the standard warranty. I called this morning to check and the service dept guy told me he needs to check with the manager so I'll call back tomorrow when he is in. I believe they are not willing to repair it under warranty. Bike has 10k miles and 15months.

Any hint or suggestion or comment to share before I call them again?

The bike is covered for 2 years unlimited miles. I don't have HDnet access, so I can't confirm when your warranty started, but it may have started before you picked it up.

Anyway, assuming you still have coverage, the gaskets are covered. Pretty much the only thing that isn't covered is tire wear and break wear.

Well ... I am the first owner and the warranty should exipre at the end of the year (being a mY07). Unless that leftover was purchased by the dealer ... and then sold to me

Happens more than you think. Demo models, Company Owned Vehicles, and some various other bikes will technically be sold even before you bought it, and the warranty started before you sign the paperwork. This isn't every case, but you can call HD Customer Service and have them check the warranty status.
