I got mine from DDM Tuning. Very affordable, easy to install, huge difference from the stock bulb.

I only did the low beam (high beam doesn't matter any more). I got the 55 watt kit with a 8000K color bulb. The light looks very white from the bike, but has just a hint of blue when looking at the headlight. I did run a pair of wires from the battery to power it (inline fuse of course) and a relay to control it from the stock headlight wiring. Very happy with it.

If you are worried about heating and melting wires go with the 35w HID.

I have a set of 8000k 55 watt with slim ballasts that have never been installed if you are interested. They are from DDM so they aren't the cheap ebay crap.

Yes, the R models use H3 bulbs and the S models use H7 bulbs.

I just installed a 4500k 35W H7 kit from DDM tuning on my low beam. Worked great in my garage.

When out riding it blew the lighting circuit fuse and nearly left me stranded (Turns out the starter circuit is integrated with the lighting circuit...WTF?) Relay harness is on the way.

On the XB*R bikes the low beam is on with the fuel system, didn't make much sense to me either.

no problem bro'
: D

any kit in particular for the engine light kit? I want to do white lights over the winter but haven't decided what way to go yet.

ps. those are 55w DDM in the 5000k color

now that I have used them I think I should have bought the 35w

and the picture from the side is them still warming up they are brighter and whiter after warm up (as seen in the top picture that is low beam only
)

very easy, I spent a few hours getting the routing just how I wanted it but if I wanted to just cram a bit I could have done it in about 35min.

the thing that killed me was my clubman bars because the cable routing ate up a lot of space under the flyscreen.
I had to remove the horn but I'm going to try and find an air horn that can mount under the bike and handle the heat anyway so no real loss there.

I think the 8000k will be very blue, my 5000k kit still has a little bit of blue to it.
I have decided to get the standard size basalt in 35w for my cars low beam and for the white light I'm getting 4500k this time if that helps

yea that's not as blue as I expected either

DDM must be a little more conservative than some of the other HID kits out there.

I really like the color blue the 8000k puts out. My kit came from motorcyclehidlights.com but the kit is the same as DDM.

I think you will find that both are going to be too bright. You could put the 35w in for your low beam, and the 55w for your high beam, and only use the high beam when you:

1) Have several seconds for it to come on and come up to brightness
2) Won't have any oncoming traffic for many minutes
3) Want to peel paint from the sides of barns

Thinking about this on the way to work, I guess that bulb base is probably different for the tail light than the headlight, so maybe that swap wouldn't work.

If you do put that 35W in the tail light, stand behind it at night after your eyes have adjusted to the dark, look towards the bike, then have somebody hit the brakes. Make sure your brake light isn't utterly lost in the glare from a 35w tail light.
