Can i take the snorkel thing, that goes trough the frame, out?It there any benefit?

Yes take it out now. NO benefit whatsoever.

I think Brucelee means there is much benefit...and I agree.

If you reach into the left side air scoop (as if you were sitting on the bike...the one next to your left knee) and feel where that rubber snorkel comes in you will see there is no smooth flow path and the snorkel sticks into the airway a bit.

This part has the function to seal some of the intake/motor noise under the airbox and provide a tunnel for air to get into the airbox. However it also reduces the diameter of that tunnel.

When removed it opens up the bike and allows more air into the airbox. Add in a K&N Air Filter which lets more air into the engine and an XB12R airbox which directs the air better into the velocity stack after it gets through the air filter and you get better performance.

You will hear more valve noise and what not since the motor is no longer as covered up and sealed off but this is normal and to be expected.

Sorry, I meant that the rubber insert has no use that I can see. Yes, take it out by all means.
