A friend of mine made it at work out of a 4mm plastic plate.

Prepared for to fit the cone, and stuffed with foam to keep it from vibrating and dampen the noise a bit.

m4 bolts, secured with thread locker, washers on both sides. I did test it like this but I don't feel safe riding around with it. Imagine one comes loose and gets sucked in ...

Poprivets didn't work. Came loose 'cos the plastic too soft.

Definitely an improvement. It was worth it. Remember 12 airboxes in the Netherlands are more than double the price you pay in the states.

This has cost me less than 20 bucks, including the waisted pop rivets.

I can't wait until I get the k&n filter and drummer.

I used nail polish on the bolts and shims to lock, along with locktite on the threads.

I feel much better now.

And I just got word from my friend in Germany that my Drummer's in!!

I should have it here before the weekend so I can install it!! Thanx again Brian!

Ingemar, the 12 airbox lids are approx £36.00GBP here in the UK,would it not be worthwhile finding a contact in the UK and having 1 shipped over ? The postage will only be about £15-20.00GBP.

Thanx for the tip, but don't you agree that that's just too much for a piece of plastic?

That's 55 euros for the lid and 23 for shipping! That's a 100 dollars. This has cost me 17 euros and 2 hours of hobbying. Works just as well.

Btw, I do get my tools from england; inch-tools are a lot cheaper over there then here in metric-land
