I installed all the components of the race kit this evening short of the muffler. I am getting serviced tomorrow and will have them install the muffler and reset the TPS.

Dealer is about 10 (street) miles away. Will I foul the plugs riding the bike to the dealer with the Race ECM, filter, 12 airbox and stock muffler with no TPS reset?

SMells richer than all get-up right now...

I'll only go 20, I promise ; )

Thanks in advance,

CHris

It really depends. When I installed my race ecm it was all perfect and I didn't even need a tps reset.

If the bike really runs horrible, runs WAY too rich etc, I would put the stock ecm back and take the 3 or 4 tools required to replace the ecm with me and install it there.

But then again, it's only ten miles.

If I were you I would leave the stock ECM in, put the muffler on yourself (its really pretty easy) then ride to the dealer and install the race ECM in the parking lot and have them set the TPS.
You'll save some money , learn some things about your bike and won't have to worry about your bike runnin like crap to the dealer.

Jason -- actually, I installed the race ECM, filter, 12 airbox and removed the snorkel the night before.

The bike wouldn't idle due to the TPS disparity, but I babied it to the dealer; they installed the race muffler and did the TPS reset along with the 1000 mile checkup.

Runs like a scalded cat! It's friggin' awesome.

Thanks,

Chris
