Went for a little ride on Saturday to go see my broher-in-law.
Shred and I left out at 6:30 am.
Took only back roads (OK there was 25 miles of interstate at the very beginning and at the very end).
I don't really remember the route we took up there, but some of the roads were 129, 64, 441, Blueridge Parkway, 25, and assorted back roads.
Came back about the same way we went up, but had to leave off the Parkway because of time.
Nothing really happened on the way up, hardly any traffic at all, very little on the way back. Uneventful really, and that's what made the trip special. Trusted riding partner, good weather, little traffic, good roads and lunch with the folks. Why am I even bothering to post such an uneventful ride, well, by the time I got home, about 10:30 or 11:00, looked at the trip meter.
570 miles in one day!
Not bad for an unreliable, underpowered, quirky handling, too short, too radical rake, (did I leave anything out?) little Buell, is it?
We did have to stop a couple of times to get the bugs off the face shield so we could see.
And if anyone was wondering, 129 at night is kinda scary.

Tell me you were on one of those roads that has the reflectors in the striping!

I would love to tell you that.
The part close to Cleveland had some reflectors. Neal's Gap had none.

If that map is 1:1,500,000 you get lots of straights for 130+ ....

Yep, looks flat, straight, and a real boring ride.

No it doesn't but I was trying to be funny ... I'm sure you know that at 1:1,500,000 even the tightest u-turn on the map becomes boring in real life.

I guess I'm just being jealous that we don't got roads like that over here. Not within a days' ride that is.

Are you kidding?
I wouldn't know what to do if Shred and I didn't have twisties to ride within 5 minutes of the house...

Holland is flat and boring. The few good places we had are spoiled with speed bumps, roundabouts, camera's etc. In the south it can still be fun if you know the places but that's one extra tank to have fun.

Wanna switch?

Gimme your house and I'll give you mine.

Me and my wife just need to get jobs over there, that might prove to be problematic.

Glitch, glad to hear you and Shred had a good time. I thought you were going to be returning with some sort of good news I was waiting on. This weekend I was busy talking to Trip Nobles and Gerald Rinehart about my machine... Gerald said he'd build me a one-off exhaust for my bike! We'll see. I love my Drummer. However, it couldn't hurt to see what Gerald can do. : )

Uh oh ....

Buellowsky,
I'm not a good liar. I could pretend like I know what 420 stands for, but honestly I don't have the slightest clue to what it would mean

Fst_tyms,
Congrats mate! What are ya up to over here? Got any plans? Wanna meet?

I just got lucky. I work for the sponsoring dealer of the AHDRA up in Commerce Ga. and he was there to show his support for the teams he sponsors. Now that the dealer has had a week to think about it, they want to take a shop bike and build it out instead of mine. Oh well. At least I'll get to run it. My drummer Rocks anyway. People's heads turn all the time now. At our local bike nights, the number of people who approach me about my bike has doubled since I got my Drummer. I love it.
