I cleaned my filter now I need to re-oil it.
Any tips on what type of oil to use and how to properly oil the dang thing?

Thanks in advance.

K&N? Use the K&N oil. Available at your local K&N dealer. I'm not sure what to use as a substitute. It just gets sprayed on there.

It's the one that comes with the Pro Series Race kit.

Some race kits came with a K&N filter, some came with a normal paper filter.

I think I have the K&N, it's red in color. I just checked Advance Auto, they stock the K&N spray, I'm headed there now.

Thanks a bunch.

K&N are red if they are oiled. If it's brand new, it's likely that it is pre-oiled from the factory. When you clean them they turn white till you use the red oil on them. Keep the oil around though, you are gonna need it in the future.

Good advice Gunut,
It's not new, I just decided it was time to clean it, probably way over due.
I found the (K&N Filter Care Service Kit Aerosol) at Advance Auto Parts. $11.39

Cleaner and oil. Not bad..

just my 2 cents, i have used the K&N aerosol oil but i found that klotz fabric air filter oil has a more even spray as not to over oil the filter. about the only difference is that its blue instead of red

I dunno, Blue may lead to a democratic vote. LOL.. JK.. Thanks for that tip Big_Red..

Here is a photo of my filter after cleaning with compressed air from the inside out only.

Gunut75, you are right it turns white.
I'll clean it with the K&N cleaner and then oil
