so i took my xb12r in for the 1000 mile service...now its acting funny...first i dont like the fact they set my idle up from 800-1000 to 1200-1400...and it seems after i pull the clutch in from a high rev (lets say 6 grand or something) the throttle sticks for a second or 2 right around 2000rpm any ideas, or any help on this matter would be greatful: )

The manual says to keep the idle at 1050-1150 as I recall and there are known issues with driveability if it is set too low. Too high and they take longer to return to idle.

Exactly - it sticks because the idle's too high.
The adjuster is up front under the left air scoop.
Takes an Allen wrench.
I cant remember size.Set it back to about 1000. Should be alot in the KV on it.

You dont want to set the idle too low. The HD oiling system is a pretty decent one & almost never fails but with a real low idle speed you arent turning the pump fast enough to keep up with demand & you can end up having issues down the road because of it.

Very true I should have said no lower than 1000.
Thanks Dyna

Same thing happened to me after the 1000 mile service. But it stayed at 2000 for an extended period of time. Brought it back in, they adjusted the throttle sensor, and it was fine. It stays around 1100 rpm, never higher. That beats 2000!!

the throttle sensor is NON-adjustable. the TPS value retained in the ECM can and should be reset in attempt to resolve driveability issues. the Thottle Position Sensor only goes on one way, and is not adjustable for wear. it is a disposable part, and only the dealer can make a new one work correctly.

I did the same thing, adjusted my idle a very small amount to get it to 1050 from 900-950. When returning to idle the bike stayed at 2k for about 10 seconds. Sometimes I would even have to slightly release the clutch while holding the brake in order to get the engine to return to idle. Adjusting (lowering) the idle speed an infintessimal amount fixed it.
