they DID make a pc3 for firebolt but it was for the 02 only n then stopped making it
i talked to the guys at dynojet n asked them if it would work on a 03 with a diffrent map they said in theory but they wouldnt recommend it
ive seen a few people have them in there profiles so theres gotta be a way to use the pc3 for my 03 9R

FYI... There are no '02 XBs. Many of the '03 XB9s were manufactured in '02, but they are all '03 model year bikes.

Not a technicality, just a simple fact, the opinion of J&P Cycle Parts notwithstanding. I'm sure they are perfectly accurate in their product ads; it must be Buell Motor Company that is wrong.

The old PC3 for the tube framed DDFI Buells will work on the XBs. Just another technicality for you to consider in case you are in the market for one.

Yeah, I have an xb9r from jul-02. That's the production date. It's an '03 model. There never was an '02 model.

My guess is what j&p sells is for production date, not model. They are all '03 models, up to the '04 models, of which some have a production date from 2003 as well.

At least you are aware of the need to have a PC3 dyno tuned. I think a lot of Buellers who buy the EFI augmentation units think they can just install them and ride. The dyno tuning, even without a PC3 or techlusion box, can make all the difference. You just need to find a friend who has access to a dyno. : )
