Keeping someone alive is a very big deal,
I just got out of the hospital myself.

I meant no disrespect, unfortunately the internet does not display emotion or feeling.

I have an extra front rotor since we went with ceramic front rotor on racer.

AND look on EBAY PODIUM SUPERBIKE is selling TEKNIK Full Gantlet leather racing gloves red/black/white or blue/black/white 35$ goat leather fantatic bought 2 pair myself

AND you can see the Dakota Digital Head temperature gauges (oddessy 125$) I ave these on my sons 131ci Roadking =best gauges available , temps are instant and constant . easies the mind on whether or not your rear cylinder is getting hot . As all firebolt owners know since your ass is on fire after 15 minets of riding lol

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement . When Andy Gives me Dyno sheets ill post them and Pics of the bikes The 2007 1420cc Firebolt=worked , the 2001 1200cc M2 Cyclone= economy performance package ( i have to ask andy what all was done ) and my new 2009 Ducati 1198 so everyone has a base to judge the Dyno since dynos all seem to vary a bit . BEFORE anyone thinks scam this Dyno i beleive measures LOW it reads 144hp for a 2009 Ducati 1198 (stock)

Jake, keep the love ALIVE BABY....!!!! thanks for information, sharing and thanks in advance for somehow finding pictures to post for all of us to drool over...lol

The 115hp project is more than enough for me and should still be reliable if tuned correctly. I plan an 1125 eventually but my XB12Rs Project is still alive, just slow going but cash is not what is used to be.

Thanks again for keeping me giddy and feel free to email me anytime
F1fletcher@yahoo.com

PS Wanna know what my favorite new bike is...?? Hint, its electric and racing in the electric class at Moto GP this weekend (I will be there).

BTW bought my Buell from Lancaster Harley, small world

Thanks fletch if you( or any of the sites fellow Buellers) are ever near east norriton /Plymouth meeting area your more than welcome to come over and take the Firebolt XB14R,1125R,M2 Cyclone or any of the other bikes ( you HAVE to try the Triumph 1050 SPRINT ST youll feel like Rossi lol) out for a spin. Just watch you dont actually flip the bike over in 2nd or 3rd gear. It out accelerates the Ducati 1198 because the power comes in at such low Rpm . HEY LOOK AT THE MONOQUE TAIL PIECE IF YOU LIKE IT ITS YOURS FREE!!

Speaking of the acceleration being so strong comming in at low RPM. Im wondering with an XB12R with 110/115 being light will have equal accereration with the Ducati 1198.

Why would I think this ?
MY 1200cc M2 Cyclone which is quite a bit heavier than the Firebolt has economy performance package 102 hp/98 torque and running against my 2008 1125R that has german HPE race exhaust, K&N intake and Twins(dris) race tuned ECU. In a roll on contest 20-80mph BOTH run dead even
Of Course the HP advantage of the 1125R shows itself after 80 mph and pulls away But Andy did wonders with that old Cyclone .

MFletch no PM? Andys shop # is 1-215-269-5010 there is an AD in the Sponsors section on this site . The Firebolt Dyno sheets and bike pics are in the gallery section http://www.ducati-superbikes.com
we did 3 dyno runs, 1 at 133hp and 2 at 135hp I posted the 133 so nitpickers didnt complain if a lower number ever came up. Like 2 hp makes a real differance . hell it was 95 100 degrees in the shop. that kills HP figures as it is .

You will also see the Ducati 1198 at 143 and the second dyno run also came up at 143. EVERY magazine in the world has run that bike on a Dyno making it a good base to Judge the Dyno we are running with . I actually think Andys Dyno is a bit low . AND both Torque figures where low also at 96 firebolt 1420 and 78 for Ducati 1198. The firebolt is an unknown of course but the Ducati 1198 usually runs around 10 lbs higher

Many people would like to see the bikes new cooling system which helps everyone not just people upgrading performance thank you . Jake

PS there is also a Buell M2 cyclone on there if your feeling energetic . SORRY im between a rock and a hardplace trying to post the pics /dyno sheets as you have read peviously . MY name on ducat-superbikes is the same (Jake318) and the pics/sheets are in the gallery on that site. Thanks again Jake

Unfortunatly i doubt he has time to send me all the pics up at DUCATI SUPERBIKES site being the GP,season is up and in full swing . BUT you can see all the DYNO sheets for this and the 1198 ducati at Ducati superbike gallery

GREAT NEWS!!! AL from AMERICAN SPORTBIKE being the nice guy he is , is gong to post up ALL the pics of the 1420cc Firebolt, the 1198 Ducati ( for comparison) and off course the Dynos of each so you can see Now there is a Buell Firebolt that not only is good in the Handling dept , but now excels in performance even against one of the best the division has to offer.

PS Al is also posting the 2001 Cyclone M2 econo hop up . This was a REAL quick, simple hop up/tune up but I was very pleased with results as youll see on dyno sheets

Paul,
I didn't know where you wanted these posted, so I'll put them all here. Once they're here, if you want them in another thread, you can do it by right clicking the picture, select properties, copy the URL, and post it in the other thread using an imagelink command, like this (replace the forward slash with a backward slash:

/imagelink{URL}. That way, you won't use up any more badweb storage space

Al thank you so very much !!! I was pulling my hair out trying to post pics . As for the racer, im VERY excited but I decided to up the ante and go with TRUE Ohlins superbike forks(FGR000) , the BEST Brembo brake set up you can buy With BST carbon fiber front rim. The rear rim is Buell racing 6.25inch mag. BST said we had TOO much torque for a Carbon wheel as it would rip the hub out of the rim . For the best Feel the IRC GP master cylinder lever is incredible so if you see a bike with one on give it a try if you can . , We are aiming for having a WSB quality chassis set up to go along with the mega powered engine (sorry folks THATS anouther suprise for anouther day lol). . The Sicom /Buell Ceramic brakes where my first choise but then I couldnt run the Ohlins Superbike forks OR the BST carbon front rim . That set up uses Ohlins RT forks and Buell mag front rim and will be used as a back up or put on my street Buell later. We have Parts and boxes all over so pics will have to wait for the moment . Al as soon as we switch over front end ill send you pics . Again thanks your a pal I owe you one . Jake

Jake,

I am curious about the motor build for the 1420cc XB dyno chart pictured above. It makes impressive power but not until a high rpm. What has been done with the cams and head work? Approx. how much did you invest in that motor? Did you do any crank work?

could you tell me what was done to the M2 to get that hp and torque ?
peak power is at 6500 so it could in theory make a little bit more if peak power was at 6800 to 7000,what could be done to do this ?

Sorry for delay been busy and not feeling that well.

Ericz the cams are 643 lift with 280 degree duration. As far as the heads are conserned we tried the stage 3 heads Firt but Andy looked at the stage3 and wasnt impressed with flow so he fabbed them into B2 heads which where a great improvement . Valves are 1.8 intake 1.6 exhaust and made of an alloy they use in drag racing , sorry i forget the name .It has all the best materials I can tell you that lol.
The RPM rise was us tring to compensate for the 95 degree heat we had hit 135hp at 85 degrees, but then it fell out of tune . Eric Buell Racing then got involved and sent Andy some different maps and timing sequences( those guys are the BEST) the BIGGEST problem was getting the ECU set up correctly at that HP range.

If you look at the 1198 Ducati Dyno sheet you will notice that it only shows 143hp and that was the BEST run .. Andys Dyno has always been 5hp down on the lowest test you find in magazine dyno runs . he doest try to FIX? dyno because as long as its Consistantly down 5 you know if your making progress or going backwards . Which is better than having dyno that flip flops numbers , then your always wondering if you made progress or dyno was having a Good/bad day .

Andy is a sponsor of the site and has an ad on here . feel free to call him up for the particulars .DONT WORRY HE IS A LAID BACK GUY AND WONT PRESSURE YOU FOR A SALE. Andy has been doing this for 30+ years . In fact it was his idea for an economy build . Its ALOT cheaper to get 115hp(rear wheel HP)which beleive it or not makes a firebolt as fast as a ZX10 on bottom end acceleration . Sounds impossible but being you get that power at such a low RPM your running dead even with the ZX10 till he hit 5th/6th gear.

Same thing with the M2 cyclone above.
Even with 100hp and heavier , it runs dead even with the new 600cc bikes till they hit 5th/6th gear.

Next experiment is a woman who is a friend of mine puts at LEAST 30k a year on her bike . So I gave her the M2 cyclone . I predict that the Cyclone will do at LEAST 60K even though it has 12.5:1 compression and 643 lift cams . As long as an engine runs cool and has good lubrication, HP has VERY little effect on engine life .

12.5:1 compression yikes !!! thats high,i have thought about 11:1 max for my M2,
.643 lift cams, let me guess thats intake and exhaust, imho your loosing a bit of power with those on the exhaust side, try somewhere around .580 lift intake and exhaust then put high ratio roller rockers on the intake side ONLY,this will release some pent up power from your engine(its a buell not a harley same lift intake exhaust is a limiting factor in these engines at or near max rpm)or have some cams made up,say .640 intake .580 exhaust ???
what else is in that engine ???

V74 I thought that myself trying a 630/585 split timing cam in an xb12R. But the srait 643 lift cams produce more power and the 12.5 compression isnrt that much more than the 11:1 when all said and done in static compression .
V74 I have to get ANDY on the computer to fill everryone in on the specifics but as you know GOOD mechanics are LOUSEY at computers lol.

MIGS are you talking about the Forced air oil cooler? yes, you could install it on a stock engine . it would just run cool. Running cool is godd for all engines .
