My 9RE hasn't been getting a lot of use lately and the DECA that is in there from when I bought is starting to be very short lived, like dropping 25% or more in a day of sitting. It went flat once this summer from the alarm so I probably killed it or at least helped it to die. I'm concerned it will die and leave me stranded so I want to replace it before that happens.

So is the HD battery really a bad choice? I see some people getting years from them, some complaining of only months. What I like is I can go grab one on the way home from work and they are not a lot more than many of the other batteries.

So should I swing by and grab one or is it really a mistake? My alternative is whatever I might find at Autozone, Advance, or Walmart (if they have anything that would even fit).

The dealer also has a Vrod Destroyer on the floor that might be neat to look at just for fun, no title $22K+

The stock battery isn't bad, its just a regular battery that is marked up a few bucks. I want to say it is made by Yusa, but don't quote me.
