Hi guys, as some of you know I have been having some problems with my bike running poorly since day 1 (note, I love my bike regardless) I'm going to the dealer this week to try to get it fixed and since they never found whats wrong with it I did some troubleshooting and here's the problem and what I came down to think is the problem.

The bike, 09 a xb12Scg, as always run badly whether it was at idle or now when it's hot. My dealer sofar did replace the engine temp sensor and the stock ECM. On my side I did do some mods like a drummer and airbox delete kit so I ordered a Erik Buell Racing race ecm. After all the help from Erik Buell Racing (3 times getting new mapping) I came to the conclusion the ECM was not the source of the problems yes now it runs alot better with the new mapping but still when the engine is hot the problems are coming back so I figures the o2 sensor or even the TPS (the sensor itself) must be the source most likely the 02 or again the engine temp sensor. What do you guys think? Am I totally off?

I need this fixed before my warranty runs out in 2 weeks.

Spend some time and read this entire thread, let us know how similar yours is to his bike, including the video:

You've alerted the dealer to a problem inside the warranty period.

It's not fixed yet but it is still covered until it is fixed.

Of course, life isn't always that smooth....

Froggy, my bike was running like that when I got it but now it's fine, most of the problem right now is when the motor is cooler the power is all there and the bike is great, but as soon as it get as bit hotter I start having a big hole in the mid range and when I try to WOT it will hang around 4k to 4500 rpm and just stumble for a bit sometimes longer and then when it finally made it to around 5k or past it's stumble here we go all the power is there. The last drummer map from Erik Buell Racing helped alot but it still does it so I'm guessing the ECM is receiving wrong data from one of the sensor mentioned earlier but that's my understanding I might be wrong, the problem is my dealer which use to be good with us is now not so good anymore since we stopped existing in his showroom. All they always comeback with is it must be your ECM or "I really don't understand what's wrong with your bike, if it was mine I would put a carb on it and it would be trouble free" see the kind I have to deal with?

sorry I did not read the entire thread froggy linked but I was having your latest issue for a while too. especially on hot days.
I tired everything I could think of* and it magically went away, no idea what it was.

*everything I could think of (that I could afford)
fuel injector cleaner
seafoam
tps reset
extended periods in closed loop (low rpm)
extended periods in open loop (high RMP)
flog the heck out of it with lots of WOT

I have spark plugs that I was going to try next but it went away so I haven't rushed the install on those, maybe this weekend they will go in too.
but in doing that I discovered that my dipstick gasket was cracking and I was getting blow-by on my tire huger, I also replaced the gasket but I'm not sure if that was a cure to my woes or not or if it could even relate to your bike but you might as well check that your dipstick is tight.

sorry it may not help but its all I got for ya'
