took my 09xb12ss in under warranty for leaky gaskets, that is when they discovered that my engine was NFG, and I received a whole new motor. Take it in, NOW!

I agree, take it to the dealer. If there is a gasket issue better to find it before warranty is gone.

Before you do may i suggest one thing, there appears to be more oil up front and to the oil filter side of the case. check to make sure your filter has not spun loose. Just worth a quick check before you head to the dealer.

+1 on the muffler no matter what.

Hmm interesting, I changed the oil 2 weeks ago. The filter area is dry but I did notice there was some oil from when I replaced the filter that made its way onto the crankcase but I thought being that there is oil on both sides of the case and ontop of the exhaust valve I didn`t think one drop could get all over in 500km. I don`t want to clean it and ride it before I show it to harley just because I only a few days left of warranty. I will let them clean it. Im pretty sure they will do nothing about the muff.

Definately don't clean it just check, I only suggest it because i've had my filter back off before and it doesnt take much oil to look like a lot. Also many folks have had there exhausts replaced because of the way yours looks.

Certainly let the dealer clean it. They may do that and let you ride it for a while to see if it starts seeping again. This will at least get it documented before the warranty is over.

Please repost what they say. Also you can take your muffler off and paint it with a nice rustoleum high temp paint. If you do it every time you see rust you can not only make your bike look great but it will make your pipe last a long long time. If its to much work you can always buy one used on ebay, but if you have to take it off anyway to replace it you, then you might as well go ahead and paint it to make yours last and save some $$$$.

Back from the appointment, the tech cleaned everything and went on a road test and it was not leaking but he did smell the hot oil I was smelling so he took off the air box to find the gromets for the breather tubes were leaking. So they have ordered them and next Tuesday when I go back to have them replaced he will recheck the crank case leak. But he thinks it was from a oil change. Again I will keep u posted.
