I came across this on ADVrider the other day:

quote:

XBSTT was unique, that is for sure. And, unbeknowing to most, the XBSTT was actually the most powerful/fastest air-cooled Buell. Cams and timing were just a tick different than what was found in the R and S models. Rode one after they came out and you could feel a little bit of difference when riding in the upper RPMs towards the redline.

Any truth to this? I thought I stayed on top of new model changes through the XB line and this is the first I've heard of any XB12 model getting special cams. Can anyone confirm this with part numbers or something?

My parts book shows no difference.

i also heard that they had special coolant that kept the motor 50 degress cooler than other XB motors.

They also came with a reverse flow motor that benefits from the cooler intake air underneath the motor and the exhaust gets filtered for lower emissions as it exits the stock air filter!

Don't think that's true. I have a STT and it feels just the same as every other XB12 I have ridden.

i do agree, STT's are actually better. I can wheelie mine just twisting the throttle even in 6th gear.

The suspension was different. Otherwise the STT was very same to an SS.
