Found this pic from Killboy of an XB12S at Deal's Gap (TN/NC border). Check out the windshield and hard saddle bags!

If that ain't the cool I don't know what is. I don't know if I'd buy one, but it's sharp that someone did that clean of a mod to their bike.

It looks like the seat if different and the bars are higher as well. Very interesting, and I bet that it would make a fun "day tourer".

I may be wrong but those look like BMW K1200LT bags.

Would not be the first factory parts shared between BMW and Buell ; )

Anyone intimately familar enough with the XB that they can see anyplace on that bike that might be storing extra fuel?

Doubt a mule would be out with a rider with a jacket that says BUELL on the back though... Kind of like the Simpsons episode where Homer was wearing the "FBI witness protection program" t-shirt : )

Reepicheep look close. That jacket has the word Buell and it has a Pegasus on it.

That is cool! In case you guys didn't catch it, there's a thread below where Dyna saw a Buell XB12 with bags somewhere outside of Chicago earlier in the week. Coincidence? (probably, but still interesting)

The one I saw had bags that were a little smaller & were all black. Had the stock XB12S flyscreen too.

That seat... which looks custom anyway... seems to go a LOT further down the tail section frame then factory. Or is that my imagination? Or maybe just a low version?

If I could find a place for extra fuel on that thing, I would be suspecting a factory tourer mule.

Seems like the luggage would be integrated a lot better though, lots of wasted airspace there, especially since they blew away the passenger pegs anyway.

Interesting exhaust also, does not look like either the race kit or stock exhaust.

Any of you guys interested in chipping in a buck or so for the ~$15 fee to get the full-size image from Killboy? Or maybe somebody could talk Killboy into a freebie for BadWeb? We could see a LOT more detail in the full-res photo.

It has the tailbag on it Reep, so it looks like its fatter up top in the back and giving it the illusion of rolling down more. He also has the Buell tankbag on there. I like the fact he has what looks like the Kuriyakin (sp?) bullet turn signals mounted off the license plate frame.

Some BMW galaxy tourers have saddlebags which function as extra fuel tanks. Try not to store strike-anywhere matches....
