Hal's was selling a few XB9's with a similar paint job. I think they work with a painter that does that type of work. I know they were selling dash boards for Dressers with that type of finish.

I’m not interested in giving anyone free commercial access to something I have invested time and money in, think about it. If someone would like to see my bodywork they can come over to my house, or maybe we can meet at some MC/Buell event.

I have confirmed that the pictures in the auction are of my bodywork. The seller has no bodywork to sell and no current capacity to have any of the pieces made. The seller was given photos of my bodywork by the manufacturer. I would love to see what would happen if someone were to bid on it.

If you really want a set I can have one made for you. I will charge you my cost plus the cost of Badweb sponsorship and $200 for my partner. The cost will be around $2,000 and I can make no guarantees on fit, inner composition, or durability. If you want a few dozen sets I can get you a good price break.

this is an email i got from the asb.com guys

We have had some of our Carbon fiber parts molded in colored cloth before.
It looks gorgeous, but we can't stock it because the variety would make inventory a nightmare. Also, the colored stuff is much pricier.

If you want me to get any of our parts quoted in color, I can probably do it. There will likely be some sticker shock, as I suspect there would be some minimum cloth buy issues that would drive the prices up. But I guarantee it would be top notch quality and drop dead gorgeous.
mabye i WILL end up with a blue carbon fiber bike after all

ya i can find carbon fiber peices
ive narrowed it down to factory buell peices or linbuger peices from trojan horse or the asb peices, i like a BIG weave so im not sure yet
but the question is, is it easy to or can it even be done to just dye/paint your own carbon fiber?

You can paint carbon fiber bodywork. The colored woven stuff is a mix of carbon fiber which is black and something else like kevlar or fiberglass that can be dyed as desired. You cannot replicate the woven effect of a carbon/kevlar weave in a straight carbon fiber part, nor can you stain the kevlar after the fact as it is encased fully in epoxy resin/matrix which would prevent any dye from touching the dyable kevlar.

Maybe you could if you painted with a translucent color, like maybe a candy color.
But it's probably best to get the color you're after to begin with.

You have all the parts needed to make molds... You could make your own CF parts. I've been considering that myself.

I've seen CF in different colours before ("clearcoated" and everything) - but I don't know anything about it.

Its called Ryceboy carbon fiber. Its fake carbon fiber look with different colors, its not real. Its not possible to dye carbon fiber because of the color its made in, black. Try dying a black t-shirt, it comes out black.

this is from some supercars board
ill go halfs on some of this with u m1 if u crank me oout some peices

Dye can be added to the binder when it is mixed, giving straight carbon fiber color. Tube frame parts were available this way for awhile. The look is similar to the blue carbon fiber Buell sold.

nice link 420at145mph

I have access to all the machinery necessary to manufacture these parts. I would however, need some parts to make molds from. If anyone is willing to make some donations, let’s see if we can work something out.

cuz if u look at the back of the peices in the first pic it looks like plastic back there n i think this auction is a scam for some of that riceboy carbon fake stuff the guy from the supercar baord was talking about

Yes tinted resin will give a colored effect, but not anywhere near the effect that Roc's parts display. Binder/resin/matrix... too many names for the same thing. : )

i talked to a guy today that paints military airplanes
he said u could possibly add color to the clearcoat if is powderd pigment
wonder if itd be cheaper to just go that way
buy some nice big weave carbon fiber n then just get it clearcoated with colored clearcoat
