If anyone is racing an xb9sx, please drop me a PM or post here. I'd like to pick your brain on the subject. I'm pretty much done riding on the street. I love my 675 on the track, but would love to get some more use out of my Buell.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I forgot to ask: Does anyone know who makes a full belly pan that fits the XB9SX?

Thanks!

sharkskins had a firebolt full fairing kit, Erik Buell Racing has just a belly pan, grand stand desins has some race body work for xb bikes, airtech has some stuff as well. It pretty much depends on what material and weather you want full race body work or you want it to stay naked.

I want to leave the bike naked. Several companies make bodywork for the 9/12R. I've e-mailed Catalyst to see if theirs can be modified/will fit the 9SX. If the Buell racing version fits with minimal mods; I'll buy it there (I much rather see Erik get my $$$).

My intention is to use it a track days and a few lightweight twins class races. I already have a Triumph 675 set up as a full race bike. I really enjoy riding my Buell, but no longer do a lot of street riding. It is a shame to have such a fun bike just sitting my garage. Setting it up for the track seems like a logical choice...

Ok if you are wanting to keep it naked I would suggest going with the one from Erik Buell Racing as it bolts on to the same place as the regular chin faring and looks simular to it as well. Also it does not seem to be a bad price at that.

I am really interested in this subject also. Specifically, a seat that is more "race". My sx seat seems to grab me and hold me in. I have to "lift then slide" my ass to shift my weight, would like to just "slide" from side to side. Seems like it would be more efficient.
Who makes a race oriented seat?

A little baby powder on the seat solves that problem

I don't think baby powder will solve it..get any seat other than the SX seat! That thing is squishy and tall, and does just that- grabs you and holds you....worst seat Buell made on any XB, IMO.

It does help if your having issues with your leather gear sticking to the seat.

Try to pick up an old stock XB9/12S seat.
The stock seat for my '03 XB9S is hard and has smooth vinyl.
It sucks for commuting but it's good for moving side to side.
I use a Select seat for everyday riding, but I keep the stock seat for track days.

Oh and if you want to keep the stock naked/fighter look on a XBS race bike, I'm pretty certain you can adapt a early S1 Lightning Race Fairing to work with an XB.

Look at Trojan horse ... they have an ad on here . Trojan Horse has about 4 different kinds of seats . they also have the BEST race tail on the market for an Firebolt. We are using the one piece carbon fiber tail piece thats copies the stock form . Good but not as good as Trojans race tail , im just too lazy to paint it lol
