Ok, put on my new 2010 wheel on my XB. Well, I put in 36 psi in the wheel. This morning I found that it was at 31 psi. For some reason it's losing air. I'm kinda thinking that the valve stem is where it's happening at. Anyone got any incite on this yet?

The 1125's were having a problem with air loss through pores in the cast wheel. I don't know if they use the same castings or not.

Did you air it up with the tire cold?

Yes, I did air up on cold.

Sprayed with soapy water. It's leaking air where the bead is. Very slow. Don't suppose I could break the bead and reset it? Maybe bad bead?

Yes it can easily be the bead. I doubt your bike is under warranty anymore, but if you take it back to the shop, politely explain that it is leaking air from the bead and you would like them to try sealing it again. They shouldn't charge you for this.

I did it myself. It appears to be coming from where the seam of the tire meets on the bead. I'm tempted to pull the tire completely off and check it and the rim.

Remove the valve core stem. Use a big C-clamp to get the bead off the wheel, ,clean the bead and the wheel, use your compressor (with the core out) to seat the bead again. Put stem core in, inflate and check. It'll take you half hour. GIT ER DONE!!!

Well, didn't have time last night and today we have an overnight trip. It's a very slow leak so will just suck it up for now and fix it later this week.

Look at the bead very closely. Any damage from cuts, or missing pieces of rubber will result in catastrophic failure, especially if the bead wrap is exposed!

No signs of damage. It looks like there may be some leftover rubber from where the 2 halves of the tire meet there maybe. Going to mess with it today.
