Has anyone had the same issue with finding a replacement bulb for the clear lens turn signals? I went everywhere possible (except a buell dealership because it's not exactly close by) but cannot find any match. For some reason it has an off-set prong set up. This is very frustrating...

Regular 1156's work, if you file off one of the tabs. Takes 1 minute.

Or get LED's: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/Turn-Signal-LED /Amber-LED/2-AMBER-MSMT-27-LED-TURN-p4748463-1-2.h tml

I know they give some odd number like RY10W, but isn't it just a 5008 bulb? Should be available at any auto parts store.

Yeah, I tried 4 different auto parts places, a walmart, and two motorcycle shops. No one has seen a bulb like that

I figured filing off one of the tabs would make it loose in the socket, that wasn't an issue for you?

have you tried a 5008 bulb tho? That's what I use in my Uly...and it should be the same bulb.

"loose in socket?"

Nah, one pin is sufficient to retain the bulb against the spring pressure from the bottom contact. If it's wobbly, bend the side contact inward a little.

Does your bulb look like this?

Totally straight, clear bulb. No flare which is why it's tricky to find (plus the off-set tabs). I don't want to put an orange bulb when all of the other bulbs are clear. Call me picky...

that's a 5008 bulb, available at any Auto Zone/O Reillys/Napa/Wally World around here...

if you truly can't get them near you, shoot me a PM and I'll send you a couple of spares!

I haven't had a chance to go and re-look. I hope to this weekend. I live in NYC, not too many autozones around...

Thanks for checking in though. Much appreciated.

Ah yes. Say what you will about suburbia, but I have 5 auto parts stores, 2 wal-marts and a Target within 5 minutes of me : )
