It certainly does work. It replaces the entire airbox on the XB9, including the plastic base. In conjunction with a vented airbox cover such as the 'turbo' it has shown itself to produce an extra 6 bhp on an XB9S.

trojan;
Do you specify the S because with the wind screen on the R diverts air from the vents on the vented cover... and how do you test something like a vented airbox cover on a dyno... the true advantage to a vented cover is at speed the air is forced down the throttle body (not just drawn). Couple that with tuned fuel delivery and you get more mixture in the cylinder for each bang stroke. So, with this in mind... I believe the twelve air box adds measurable bhp. However I am unclear about measuring the power benefit from something like "ram air". I do not intend to deny the validity of your statement... but how do you know?

Torqer..great question. I to would like to know, how to get a read on a ram air type set up.
one article I read, said it was pure guess at best.
The article stated some testers set up fans, and blew air into the airbox while on the dyno, but that it is not very accurate.

The Trojan racing team is very reputable and championship winning. If they use the parts on their racing machine they obviously work.

You could measure it with a G-tech I think...

I think it's a legit question, how you dyno ram air type set ups.
Trojan has a great REP, just curious how they come to these conclusions.

I tried to get it to work the last time I rode into San Diego. My buddy lent me his for the couple days I was there. I couldn't get it to work that well with the bike, which is mentioned on their site.
