Well my Jardine blew its rivets....twice...Bolted it....blew those and holes around them as well. So Jardine is POS. Anyways...all other exhausts are expensive as hell... would love spec ops but stock exhausts are kinda $$$ too. So read on here couple threadsd about custom work... how about a custom glasspack muffler or magnaflow muffler? I was planning on re-using the baffle and packing. But this jardine blowing itself apart is pissing me off and dont have the $$$ for new aftermarket exhaust (especially the Trojan Equal Length headers ahhhh). |

B00stzx3- text me at 334 447 7 zero 51 and maybe we can work something out. I have a few cores here that aren't in the best of shape but still functional and look good cleaned up with a fresh paint job. |

Should be easy to put another muffler on the end of the Jardine elbow and wrap a strap around it that attaches to the rear bracket from the Jardine. I must have the only Jardine on the planet that has held up well. |

I did a glass pack internal using the stock can. I also put an adjustable baffle in the pipe and a tip insert to help keep some the back pressure. Sounds good but I have'nt changed the ECM yet for the extra flow. |

I did a custom exhaust system routed through a turbine stage, it sounds great. |

Glitch the funny thing is I do have a perfectly good turbine stage laying around, only thing is the compressor side its attached to is completely messed up. Loose compressor housing bolts equal a ruined compressor wheel and housing. Fortunately for me both the original and replacement turbos were free. Also I'd say my custom exhaust doesn't sound too much different from my previous Drummer muffler, it's my resulting intake side that sounds so sweet. |

I had both ends of my Jardine welded. No problems. |

Coupla things - I've heard that the Jardine cans blow themselves apart when the packing is shot, could this be the root cause of your troubles? I fitted a muffler/resonator from a car to my bike. It worked fine, the biggest job was fitting brackets to hold the chin spoiler. I chose a single inlet, double outlet and welded chrome tips on. All up, about A$150.00. including bends and clamps. Now I've scored a race muffler at the right price, so will fit that. |

Was it the jardine gp-1...thats what i had and those are the exact same problems i had. No need to by a new exhaust... ...take can apart...look at the holes for the rivets on the can, not the pipe. if they are elongated at all like mine were, re-riveting will only work for 2k miles or so. i had to saw off about an inch of the can, the end where the old rivet holes are...and redrill new holes. I had the gp-1 pipe so that extra wieght of the elongated tailpipe was too much with all the vibration...so i cut to down to the size of a regular rt-1 tailpipe. re-riveted with large flange rivets and it has been perfect for the last 6k miles. ...hope this helps... ...o, by the way, while i had it open i took out all the glasspack to make it louder...i love it...custom in my book. |

Hey all, sorry wasn't at the comp most the weekend. I will give Odie a call, thanks Odie. I doubt I can afford it though lol. I just repacked it about 1000 miles ago with Jardine repack kit from American Sportbike. Shceetz, it was the older older Jardine, think the PO got it on there around 2003-2004. Fresh packed so thats not it... after rivets blew out twice, I bolted it and those blew as well. |

WHat do you do once it comes time to recpack? I read about something called Superwool 607 that was supposed to last 10x longer than fiberglass...but read a review that it was bunk. Can I break it apart to repack after welding? |

I would suggest the welding as well. If the person is smart with the welding it can be ground off come re-packing time and rewelded afterward. I have a good friend who is a good welder and my dad has a welder as well so I'm a little biased though lol. |

I have the Jardine with the silencer insert, with 7K+ miles now and still good. I'm bored with the sound now though and thinking of getting the Drummer SS. Christopher |

Not repacking it will only make it louder, so I welded it and am not going to ever repack it. |

My pops gets back thursday, I'mma have a looksee with him on these posts and see what my best bet is. I really appreciate it kids!! Ryan, doesn't not packing make the exit turbulent? Its not going through the baffle anymore, its going thorughout the whole exhaust... |

Honestly, I was under the impression not repacking would not create any performance issues. Anyone else want to comment? |

I wouldn't think there would be any change in performance. It isn't like the exhaust is forced through the packing material. I suppose you could just replace the inner pipe with one that isn't drilled. You would just have a straight pipe with the look of a muffler. I doubt it would be much louder. |

I doubt it would be much louder either since it is already basically a straight through pipe. The stainless wrapper should be so much stronger that it shouldn't pop the rivets through the material like they can do with the CF or aluminum wrapper. I was thinking about this for the hulk that I have. You could also have some stainless nuts welded to the back side of the ends, then use stainless screws to hold everything in place which might also help prevent the ends from blowing out and would make changing the packing much easier. |
