Is there anything different or special about the size or the way the clutch and brake levers mount? I've been looking on ebay and I see some billet aluminum black levers for $40 a pair shipped. In the description it has a long list of bikes that they will fit. If this is the case then I would assume(you know what happens when you ass-u-me) that these are just standard levers. Am I right or wrong? | ||

You can probably find something compatible, but probably not exact - may have to do some filing. At least that's what it seemed to me - I asked the same question a couple of months ago. Unless you get the levers made for your Buell, you may have to use a little ingenuity. I ended up ordering some CRG levers - way more expensive but fit perfectly. Not saying that's the way to go; I didn't want to screw with modifying them. | ||

I do hope you will take no offense if I suggest that you were incorrect. There are many different types of levers, and the Buell levers do not seem to be exactly like any other bike, according to the CRG tables which give the following part numbers for XB Buells: Brake lever AN 531, Clutch lever AN 621. http://www.constructorsrg.com/store/lvr_apps.html There are lots of stock levers that look similar, but be careful. There have been reports of levers that seemed to fit, but actually activated the brakes just enough to overheat, and subsequently seize. Not pretty. Once, when I broke a lever at a track day, I was able to get a Ducati lever to fit with a bit of filing here and there, but it was just the clutch lever, a bit less critical. Bottom Line: Either use the stock lever or save up for some CRG's or other levers that are known to fit. They are really worth it, or at least that's what I keep telling myself.  | ||

Most of the 09 XB12 models have ZTL2 brakes, and a different lever. It is the same lever as the 1125R, so it would be wise to shop for a lever for one of those as many aftermarket levers will just assume nothing changed from 08 to 09 XB's and list it as compatible. |
