what's the trick? i am replacing the clutch cable and I am trying to follow the maintenance manual. I do turn the outer ramp and the hook all the way counterclockwise as much as possible and then I tighten the adjusting screw. but the clutch does not engage completely. and how tight should I turn the adjusting screw??

mah? thanks.

PS. Installing a magura kit but that should not make any difference.

There is a good description and video up in the knowledge vault of how to properly adjust the clutch.

I just had the same problem. Turn CCW till it becomes "slightly snug", then turn back CW 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Thanks. So the screw has not to be "very tight" ... (?)

No. "Very tight" will be the same as pulling your clutch lever.

Turn it CCW until you feel it lightly bottom. Just using your finger tips on the screw driver. Then back it off 1/4 turn CW. Back it off more as needed to get the lock nut on (you shouldn't need more than 1/6 of a turn from this point).

You are bottoming against a spring so you can keep turning past that point, but it will require more pressure. This is what you don't want to do. The adjuster should turn very freely.
