what's the trick? i am replacing the clutch cable and I am trying to follow the maintenance manual. I do turn the outer ramp and the hook all the way counterclockwise as much as possible and then I tighten the adjusting screw. but the clutch does not engage completely. and how tight should I turn the adjusting screw?? mah? thanks. PS. Installing a magura kit but that should not make any difference. | ||

I just had the same problem. Turn CCW till it becomes "slightly snug", then turn back CW 1/4 to 1/2 turn. | ||

No. "Very tight" will be the same as pulling your clutch lever. | ||

Turn it CCW until you feel it lightly bottom. Just using your finger tips on the screw driver. Then back it off 1/4 turn CW. Back it off more as needed to get the lock nut on (you shouldn't need more than 1/6 of a turn from this point). You are bottoming against a spring so you can keep turning past that point, but it will require more pressure. This is what you don't want to do. The adjuster should turn very freely. | ||
