Al Lighton at American Sport Bike (one of our sponsors) sells the Dark Horse spools and sliders.

THE FIRST performance mod you MUST make is to unscrew those DUMMASS "ground feeler" pegs from the bottom of your foot pegs. Trust me, they ground way before you think they do and it can be STARTLING when it happens mid-turn... mid turn is EXACTLY where you DO NOT WANT to be startled. Besides, you don't WANT something that limits your lean angle.

I'm sure some attorney makes sure all streetbikes are sold with them - but get a wrench and unscrew the dang things!

Sorry Froggy wasent trying to get personal, i just didnt want the new guy to think we were all that anal about warning stickers. I didnt want to scare him away.

Oh yea ,and new guy please consider cleaning your headers with green scotch bright pads and WD 40 before wraping them. You cant go back after you burn that wrap on your pipes. if you polish your headers they will look beautifull.

OK so more questions.
1. Open air box? I've read about a tube or something on the left side that you remove? But my box looks like it was covered for the air inlet in the front/top of the cover?
I assume the ecm tune, air box, and exhaust all go together as a package?

I think I've decided to keep the rims black. I have a busa that I stripped the paint off the lip and polished so no need to have them look alike.

Going to order some spools.

Got the right side air scoop ordered.

Headed out the door to get mirrors right now.

Thanks for the info on the buellxb board, more info is good.

And I live in KS. so I doubt I touch the footpeg-curb feeler's much, but not a bad idea to get them off there. Actually did have a small low side on a different bike once because of those things.

Thanks again everyone for all the responses.

Doc, I constantly tinker, my friend had delrin rod at his machine shop, and we made em on his lathe, they are just a bit long, but I'm gonna leave em. I'm currently learning to bend plastic, hehe, to make hand guards (obsessive need to make stuff, even if I dont know how, and it doesn't come out like I wanted, I try)

Bark busters to mount to, brilliant! Well I just picked up a 12 muffler so time to open her up and donate some innards to the trash can. Still have the mirror to install too.
Now I need to read up more on the air box mod.
I also notice your horn is behind your screen? HID lighting?

Yes Doc, I took out the horn mount, and that gave me the room for everything, and the horn just screwed in fine, in the same hole, only upright, it sounds the same

thats my first 2 tries at makin the guards, the one on the right took more work to bend , but looks, and works a bit better, I have a pair of those on it for a week now, they will work well with my tall windscreen for longer trips
