I am looking at the new Michelins (Power Pure) which are supposed to be great tires as reviewed so far. Could I use a 190/55 in the rear without harm??

It'll work fine but a 190/55 will rub on the center of the tire for 08+ xb's. Not sure about prior years

Mine is Scg and 190/50 is fine. but seems like 190/55 should hit swing arm.
catalog said 190/50 is smaller than 180/55 (about 8mm) but when I measure actual outer diameter, just 2mm bigger than 180/55. its mean total 10mm bigger diameter than catalog spec because 5.5J rim size.

I put the Michelin power pure on my XB12S I am sold on Michelin they are great tires. I have Michelin on all of my vehicles except of My XR650L. When I need tires for the XR650L I am going the put Michelin on it. I friend of mine runs the Power Pure on his 625 KTM supermoto.

The rear Hugger? That should be an easy fix.

Worst thing I ever did to my bike was put a 190 on it. Stick with a 180, the performance is way better then the looks.
