Best bet is to contact Erik Buell Racing. I personally have had nothing but stellar customer service from them.

I have a 2010 xr12r ad it can with a jardine on it and the bike only had 150 miles on it, I didn't like the jardine to much. So I put it back stock and I just picked up a race ecm and I am in the process of moving out west so I won't be installing it till later, this year.

I know the jardine system doesn't fit the 2010 xb12r properly, the right side mounting bracket needs to be heated and bent in order for the front motor bolt fit the chin fairing bracket. It seems the 2009 and 2010 xb12r is sightly different then the earlier years.

what air cleaner are you running, you are supposed to use a k/n or buell race filter, your bike could be running rich

With a Jardine pipe, running rich would be pretty difficult.

The Race ECM doesn't require a race filter/free flowing filter. Here's the description taken from the Erik Buell Racing site:

"Engine Control Module for 2010 XB12 model motorcycles with Jardine exhaust systems. This ECM also works with motorcycles that have both Jardine exhaust systems and a free flowing air filter. Simply replace existing ECM with this one for race or track-day events."

It says it also works with a free flowing filter, it isn't required.

Nick- while I don't think it is his problem (the K&N doesn't really flow THAT much more...), when I read that description it tells me that it was made for use with a high-flow filter...

@Andy

I asked a Buell tech at Erik Buell Racing this exact question before I bought a race ecm for my 2009. He said a high flow/race filter isn't necessary.

I also asked Erik Buell Racing and they said I didn`t even have to have a race exhaust or race air filter. They said I would see smoother power delivery for ¨Track days¨ over the stock ECM
