Thanks to the input from the folks here on the BWB XBoard, (and from Aaron and Morgan at Latus Motors HD BuelI in Portland, OR -- they ROCK!!) I am now the proud owner of a black and gold XB12R -- and I'm in love.

In fact, my Deuce and the Sportsters are about to sue for divorce, as they aren't gettin any attention...

Two questions -- as I do all my own work, I have the shop manual and parts manual on order, but I now have a custom Edlebrock race muffler the guys at Latus have put together and would like to install it ASAP.

Any tricks or concerns to watch for? -- Understand I need to leave the motor for the butterfly valve live or it will throw off engine codes. Anything else to watch for when switching out exhausts?

Second, I will be installing billet frame sliders and would like to upgrade the bar end sliders to some heavier weighted black billet style to match -- any suggestions for sources would be appreciated.

Thanks again for all the input when I was deciding between the S3T and the XB12R.

Both were cool, but I knew the XB was the right choice when on my third long break-in ride I accidentally pulled a full wheelie and rode it hooligan style past a slow going older lady in her Buick. She bug-eyed, and I laughed out loud and suddenly felt like I was 5 years old again, not 50. In the immortal words of Homer Simpson, ummmmmmm, torque!!

Now where did I put that Keith Code book, and I wonder if he can show me how to do a stoppie?... hee, hee, hee...

On the Keith Code subject... Also try "Total Control" by Lee Parks.

As far as the butterfly valve... I think someone here has devised a way to remove it w/o setting any codes. It required wires, resistors, capacitors and some solder as I recall. Or at least some of those components, maybe more : ).

Oh, yeah... set the suspension by the book ASAP. The XB's are VERY sensitive to both suspension settings AND tire pressure.

Wordshop if your gonna run the race ecm the stepper motor can be removed.If your staying with the stock ecm then leave it plugged in.The cable will be disconnected in either case.Those billet frame slider's are they the ones that are at some way and fashion attached to your motor???Cause if they are I wouldn't put those on.Thats just my 2 cents but they look like they would do more damage then protect.
