So, my wife is riding my XB9SX with the stock seat. Well, after a couple hours on her butt is uncomfortable. We've been thinking about getting her some padded bicycle shorts to help with comfort. Any suggestions?

Strap a pillow to her butt? Tie a sheep on the seat?

Get a differant wife.

You can take the seat to any seat shop and they can put softer foam in it and contour it to her azz.

Might consider the foam part.

My ass gets sore after a couple hours on an S too. I know of 2 things that help;
A sheepskin seat cover will help a lot and even a synthetic one will work. A seat cover for the bucket seat in a car can be modified easy and cheap. The other thing is kinda hard to wrap your mind around. I learned a long time ago that a hard seat is more comfy than a soft one. The reason is because your butt gets toughened up and used to it. The point is to ride more and ride often so the tooshy can get used to it. Comfort will follow.

If you can find a used Corbin Gunfighter for a good price, it would be my recommendation! You may also find a market for your stock seat to help offset the cost.

It allowed me to double my daily mileage on my 12s easily.

Don't be afraid that it is rock hard when you first get on it. They warm up quickly.

Good luck!

not everybody's butt is the same and for me, harder is not better. i have worn the bike shorts on occasion and probably need to wear them a bit more maybe. redoing the seat will probably be the best bet.

I have the select on my XB9 and while my cousin thinks it is very comfortable my wife says 200 miles tops. Its definitely better than the stocker.

I've had Corbins on my firebolt and on a cruiser-you probably won't go wrong with one. If you ever get a chance to visit their store in Daytona they sell couches that look like the trunk of classic cars. Really expensive but they're just like the bike seats-rock hard but oh so comfortable!

I purchased a Air Hawk seat cushion for my wife. She said it made a huge difference. We tried a gel cushion and a sheep skin but she said the Air Hawk was by far the best.

The nice thing about the cushion is it can be removed for every day riding. The Air Hawk is the inflatable bladder type that was originally developed for use in wheel chairs.

I believe it was the medium cruiser. But check the dimensions to be sure of the size.

Proper bicycle-style underwear will help. It's amazing how the wrong clothing can make you uncomfortable.

After that, try a good sheepskin butt pad: http://www.alaskaleatheronline.com/servlet/the-tem plate/Buttpads/Page

When I do long rides I ride with bike shorts. Definitely helps. Worst comes to worst you may be looking at a new seat. I have the streetfighter on mine and it greatly increased comfort on long trips.

City X seat worked wonders for me.....? But I do use the padded bike shorts for long distances. Try looking at www.motorcyclesuperstore.com
