Someone one once posted a link for a company who makes aftermarket seats for the XB12S. I want a seat that is comfortable on long rides. The stock seat is like riding on a 2X4 after a hour or so. Has anyone replaced their seat and if so where did you find it?

I've come to the conclusion it is less hassle to replace my ass from time to time.Haha.Just kidding.I have an Scg which has two kleenex wrapped in simulated vinyl in place of a seat.I bought the taller seat and it still reminds me of setting on a 4x4 fence post.I've looked around the web and found lots of optional after market seats but they all seem to start around $300.00 Therefore I have decided to take my original seat and have it redone to my liking. This way I can even have custom colors that I choose first hand.I guess I am rambling here.If you want to spend lots of money check out Corbin seats.Just google them.If I were you I'd just buy an extra seat off of ebay as cheap as you can find and get it reupholstered locally.I am sure the shop can add more foam to the saddle. This is only my opinion and I hope it helps.Best of luck!!

Yep, check with Loren at Baldwin (the link Bartimus posted above). He does awesome work and my ass no longer gets numb like it did on my stock seat.

This came up in another post recently on the XB board.

My recommendation for the 12s was the Corbin Gunfighter. Watch for one used and sell your stock seat to offset the investment.

As I mentioned in the other post, the Gunfighter literally doubled the miles I could put on in one day on my 12s. Don't be surprised if it feels like the hardest seat on the planet when you first sit on it. Your butt will thank you at the 50+ mile mark.

The Corbin will make a huge difference in "sit and drone in a straight line" mode.

It will inhibit the ability to move around if/when you get the itch to strafe cornerz.

I thought I was the only one that noticed that. The Corbin Gunfighter seemed to have a bit more "squared off" edges.

Anyone with shorter legs may find that an issue when sliding off the seat a bit in harder corners. My legs were long enough that I noticed it most at stoplights.

If you want a cheaper alternative, check out Spencer's motorcycle seat mods at greatdaytoride.com. He reuses the stock seat cover but replaces the foam. He asks you to send him pictures of you sitting on the bike and shapes it to your requirements. On my Lightning, the seat feels flatter and gives more support to my sitting bones. I don't feel like I'm riding on the narrow edge of a 2x4 after an hour.
