Went to change the primary and came across what I'm assuming is water/oil mixture. I change my primary every year. Thoughts? I'm hoping that this is collecting only on this cover and not going through the entire primary system. Any input would obviously be much appreciated.

I've heard it's water leaking in through the clutch cable from riding in the rain. I had a lot more than that one time I changed the trans fluid. The whole cover was filled up with the goop. That was years ago and hasn't happened since and not problems other than a clunk in the trans when it's cold.

It's condensation.
When you ride the oil gets hot and the condensation is evaporated off.
If you don't ride enough, well, it does that.
Get out and ride!

i will second that it is just condensation.

I used to see this all the time on my bike that had an oil window. It would look cloudy for a minute.

this is normal

I get it in the winter here in Northern Illinois. I stuff a rag in the oil cooler scoop and still get it. I ride down to about 7 degrees F.

Nextcorner quote:I change my primary every year.

That's your problem if you are saying you only change your primary fluid once a year.It needs to be changed just like your oil.
Just my opinion.
Good luck.

Ride in TX

If you ride down in this area condensation is not a issue, as long as you do not power wash your bike.

I still did the zip tie thing to be safe.

i've had the country crock as well, i cut the boot right off and electrical taped it. i greased the heck out of the lever end of the cable to keep water from getting in up there. so far so good.

That's from water in the oil, it can leak in or come from condensation. If your bike lives outside treat it to a cover, if not ride it longer distances and get it really warmed up. Check to make certain the gaskets and seals are in good condition too.
