My Buell race-can just popped apart at the welds, so what's the difference?

If you let the packing material inside the can deteriorate too much before repacking, that will allow the exhaust to put too much pressure on the end cap causing it to pop apart.

So I guess putting a restrictor or two inside the muffler is probably not a good idea then.

Over 20K miles on my carbon Jardine with the quite tip and it hasn't popped apart yet. I do have it tuned to not pop much though.

I can just go out and buy a new Jardine can.

The idea is to put the 2.5" to 2" reducer on the header side.

Or I've heard some that have blown the rivets out of their Jardine just cut everything about 1/2 inch shorter, drill new holes, repack and ride it some more.
