for those who have participated in this ritual, i'm embarking on it for the first time. I posted my 'tranny woes' thread a while back when i lost 3rd-5th gear, and BRASS shavings were found in the primary. I have since been slowly making progress removing and dismantling the engine in my garage. According to the manual, once the 14 bolts are removed from the left case, the cases just 'come apart'. My question is how much force do i need to break the seal between the cases? Seems like they don't wanna come apart too easily, and being the first time attempting i don't wanna make any big mistakes.. Any insight is appreciated, thanks, James p.s. while i'd definitely prefer to be out riding, there is a certain 'good' feeling about attempting to tackle this type of project, at least so far!  |
