Don't know about your areas, But in the last few months I have seen a lot more Buells on Base.

I've seen so far on base;
1 S3
1 X1
1 12R-just today
1 Blast
2 XB9R's (mines in there)

6 Buells aboard Camp Pendleton....Maybe us Damn Marines know whats up!

No, I haven't been able to ride much in the last year. I have a neck injury that kinda keeps me sidelined. On good days I'll ride the Blast to work, right now those are few and far between. Actually I haven't been able to ride too much since October. Before that, work kept me from getting out of town to ride.

OOh Rah! Buell!

Yea, there's also a black M2 and a Black and orange S3 running around on base lately. That brings the total to 7 here on MCAS Yuma!

Maybe we should start our own club here! Actually, when the Phoenix club get's things straightened out, I plan on buddying up with them. Better roads out that way anyway!

Charlie,

When I get back from Oki, I'm sure I'll get my hands involved in it, up there in Phoenix that is.
Or at minimum be a member.

Yea, great weather here for riding, just no good roads, well, very very few. You have to either go north or head west to San Diego to find good twisties to ride. That's what I loved about living in Irvine, CA, hell three miles and I was in the hills on twisties.

Just had a meeting with our safety office. I am going to try to orgynize a Battletrax for next Oct. timeframe when it cools down. I'm going to do some cold calling to see what kind of interest there is for an event as such here on base. If none, I'll do it out in town... Maybe the dealers, MCCS, and other merchants can kick in enough to cover the rooms and cost.

Hell, if Jim's HD wouldn't do it when he had Buells, especially all those Blast he had before he got rid of them I don't know how much interest he would have in sponsoring one. If you need someone to go out with you to talk to these guys give me a hollar, like you said we might need to find out how many on base might be interested, probably quite a few if we can get Safety to hold a meeting and give them an idea what one is. I kept telling them if they would do something like that they would get more people to buy the Buells. I'm game though.

Right on! I knew Jim's was a lost cause. I'm figuring Wild West would like to hop in. They're proactive and it doesn't have to be a Buell event, even though the Buells will rule the show!

Liberty is a lost cause as well. If they pitch in, I'd be floored. I was looking at sponsors like Coke, T & A (who might even kick in an empty lot, never know), and other local businesses who might like a banner ad at the event. I plan to invite all bikes, on and off base riders. A bring your friend deal... So, off base would definitely be better. Maybe MCCS would donate a few rooms at Dos Rios for the event team. Never know!

Anyone of the dealers in Phoenix area able to run a Battletrax? If so, could we get them down here as well? Do they have someone trained for it and would they be willing to run it if we could get it set up? Wonder how big a parking lot the new shopping mall is gonna have? Could wind up being a great spot to have it.

LOL - hears a poser - semi - more like a personal hmmm - I did a year plus at St. Cathrines in Aniheim, Ca - America's last Marine Military school - bright side - close to Disney, could see fireworks almost every nite, bad - closed down a few years after I left for being too rough - lol - did a basic Navy stint in an engine room - longest shaft in the Navy - lol - Marines are a lot of fun! - any snipe would tell you that - especially at RedDog allerts - lol

Southern left this morning for Phoenix. We may be adding another to the count here in Yuma today... Well, not really as he'll be deleting the Blast, but a good trade up to the list...

I'm back. It's 2:00 a.m. as I type, got home about 30 minutes ago. Arrived in Phoenix about noon, little after, walked around the store drooling at all the Buells. That wasn't gonna help my case on the price, they new I was ripe, but in the end it didn't matter, they cut me a great deal and I am now the proud owner of a XB12R, Scarlett and Gold (yeah I know red, but we're Marines, and by God, it's Scarlett and Gold). I'll post a pict later, gotta get some rest.

P.S. yes, I'll be getting rid of the Blast, might have a buyer already, if not I'll be posting it out there for sale.

Hey Southern it was cool running into you at Chosa's. Sorry I was running late and all. Found out yesterday Hacienda HD/Buell is putting together a BRAG group and planning to set up some Battletrax events for later this year, just an FYI.

Thanks for dropping by Wycked, it was nice meeting you. Wish I would have had more time. We had to go to Avondale and get the wife a new Kia Sedona, they kept us there late wheelin and dealin, we walked out of there with a great deal also. Hopefully we'll be able to get together in the future. Tell ya, it was one long, slow, and sore ride back here to Yuma, but well worth it.
