I ended up ordering one and I wanted to pass the sale along to others.

Well, my top case finally arrived today. It fits extremely well with the Ventura Rack. I apologize about the pictures, I finished installing the case when it was a bit dark outside.

that turned out pretty good. of course you really can't use the ventura rack as a back rest though, can you.

No, you're not suppose to use the Ventura Rack as a back rest.

Two questions.

What bracket did you use to mount the case onto?

And will it work on my firebolt?

@ Ratfink

I used the universal mounting bracket that came with the top case.

Ventura makes a rack for the firebolt....yes, it will work. I purchased my Ventura Rack from American Sport Bike.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Im guessing that is the ventura bracket that is mounted on the bike and onto the universal mounting bracket that came with the case?

The Ventura setup is a rack. The universal mounting plate is mounted to the Ventura rack. The top case is connected to the mounting plate.

That's the same case that JC Whitney sells. It is pretty well made. I have one on my Concours and my wife has one on her Bimmer. Definitely not money wasted. Looks clean on your bike.

Thanks man. I believe it is because the box it came in had a JCW logo on it.

Nick,

Is that the medium or large size? I just ordered a Ventura rack for the wife's Street Triple. That looks like a nice accessory!

For the $$, these top cases are a great buy. I bought mine from JC Whitney before Sears started selling them. I've only used it a few times to prove it out (on my old 1125R). I also have a Ventura setup on my XB12S, so mine will be mounted up for road trips. Between the large Ventura bag and the top case, you can carry an IGNORANT amount of cargo....as long as it's under 20 lbs

@ Sifo

It's the large top case.

@Nick

Do the Ventura brackets attach/detach pretty easy from the bike? I like having the ability to put a pack like that on, but I also only travel for distance every month or so. Just want something a little more rugged then my cortech set-up.

Rat,

Total time to install is about 10 minutes. Each side bracket use one of the passenger foot peg bolts and one of the screws under the tail section. Four bolts total...I want to say the passenger foot peg bolts are 3/8" (?) allen drive and the screws are T27.

Did you guys get any kind of shipping confirmation or tracking info? I ordered one two weeks ago and neither I nor Sears have any idea where it is or if its even shipped yet...

@ nik

They sent me a tracking number with all zeros. I called them and they also had no idea either. Mine arrived in 10 days though.
