So, its about 5 hours away. Planning on the bus then ride home. Can you see any fatal flaws? I dont have an eye for XBs yet. Asking 5300, but I been looking and seen newer years go for far less. Any ideas on how much to go for? I was thinkin 4300.

You are aware thats a XB12SCG and not a S?

Also, Fram oil filter - change oil ASAP.

Jardine can - would change that out, not worth the hassle.

Other than that, it appears to be good. See if there is any signs of a dent under the frame pucks, which is very likely given the damage to the header indicating it was down on the right.

Just asked him about it. His daughter laid it down in a parking lot learning to ride it. Gonna get some closeup pictures of the header and under the frame puck tonight. Any idea on price? Thanks froggy, that didn't even catch my eye!

it looks like there might be some oil leakage from the rear cylinder rocker box. or it just hasn't been cleaned very well.
minor leakage is tolerable, but none would be better. keep an eye on yer oil level until you feel comfy with it.

What year is it?
I just paid $4700 for mine, 2005, with 3700+ miles and a few add-ons.

Tires run lightly underinflated, new one's are in order for it to handle correctly.

Those cute bar end mirrors are a pain in the ass if you split lanes. Just for the hell of it, ask if he has the originals. You can try them, pick the ones you like.

Front motor mounts can be a pain, that one looks good right now.

Be sure to check the oil level before leaving for home.

Mike

Its a 2005. Damn, and its got 7800 miles. Yeah, its been sitting for a while. Says he starts it up and takes it to work once in a while. Cool, I'll keep all this in mind when we talk about price. Yeah, I was hoping for a race ecm and exhaust, and no scratches.

Offer $4000 unless he has all the stock parts. That muffler is loud and to put it on requires removing the stock front and rear muffler mount. Going to cost you about $150 in new parts plus the muffler to put it back to stock, then you would also need to tune the computer.

Check the bars to make sure they did not get bent when it hit the ground.

Check the tires, the front looks like it is squared off and will need to be replaced which is going to run you $150+

Might be worth looking at the exhaust studs to make sure none of them broke when it hit the ground.

That front tire does look like it needs to be replaced.

The header will cost ~$250 if you want to replace it with a new piece.

As a price reference, I paid $4950 for an '07 XB12S that had 450 miles on it back in January this year.

Good deals are out there, check ebay and craigslist.

Ranging from NJ to CA pretty much must be a scam, way to big a distance to deal with.

I thought there was a dealer not too far from you that still had a bunch of new XB/1125 in stock at the discounted prices, might be worth finder the vehicle locator and seeing if you can get a new machine for not too much more than they were asking.

I would pass on this bike. Just my opinion. Apart from taking a fall, it just doesn't look like it has been cared for. You can get a much better sample for far less than his asking price, or a much newer one for close to the same.

Yeah, he wanted at least 4500. I can def do better. Check out the reply from the scam:
Hi!
The bike is in perfect condition , it has never been involved in accidents so it has no damages. Garage kept because I didn't have time to ride it as much as I wanted. The bike has a clean title and it will come with all original keys and manuals.I am sure you'll love it.
The price for the bike is $4,200 with shipping included. The first payment must be made for half of the amount.
The buyer will receive the bike with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it to his name. Shipping will be done whit DAS and it will take no more then 2-3 days. I have a friend there who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is my duty to pay for shipping it.It will be delivered directly to your address. You'll have a 10 days inspection period. After this period, if you don't like it or if it isn't what you expected to be or how was described, you'll get your money back in 24 hours. But this won't be the case. I am definitely sre you'll love it.
Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying it,please reply with the following information's:
-Your full name;
-Your shipping address.(street,city,state,zip code)
The transaction will close only through eBay so we both will be protected.
I want eBay because as they are the biggest company on the internet I think that we can close this deal fast and safe for both of us. Also I am not very familiar with the internet transactions and eBay is the only one I know.
I will look for your email,so that we can move forward with this deal!
Let me know.

Here are the pictures: http://s1008.photobucket.com/albums/af206/williams 1964/

Regards

SOOOOO half now, half later? All my info? What a deal! haha i guess everyone needs to wath out. Hope there are no idiot buellers who think its legit.

Thanks for your help fellas
