Hi all. I have been following your forum for a while now and think it is great to have a bunch of guys who know what they are (hopefully) talking about. My first bike was a 92 sporty with a wg front end, lowered, and blackened. I'm in the USMC and it followed me here to England. This is THE country to be a biker. Great curvy roads up here in North Yorkshire. Anyshit, I noticed I started putting my feet on the rear pegs and doing things Harley's shouldn't. So, with the money I got from a brief sabbatical in Iraq, I gots me an xb9r for 6200 new off of ebay. Based on what I have been reading, is it correct to assume that the drummer is the best $:hp option?

Welcome to the Bad Web.

Lots of opinions on the Drummer out here. All I can tell you is that I plan on getting one as soon as the money's available. I think it's a pretty good deal.

from what I've seen (dyno sheets and personally) yes the drummer gives more power (but just a few) than the race kit, and is louder. but the race kit installed the power curve is smoother.

Lots of choices... the drummer is sweet and I have one (fatlet tip.. niiiice looking) Trev is correct about the dynos. What sold me on the Drummer over a couple others was that the power(and torque) come on soooo smooth and more quickly than the stock/race/drummer. If you want a really loud Harley sound get the D&D it sounds sweet too. The Drum is louder than the race but more than that.. it's a DEEPER sound that gets louder as you go faster.... I've caught more than a few people looking. D&D is louder than both. really though... you're going to like whatever you get over that stocker though so don't worry. I'll send you a pic of it on my bike if you want.

also.... I had an XB9S a year ago and put the full race kit on. I really liked it, not a bad setup at all. I still noticed a flatspot in it though, still better than the stock. MY OPINION ONLY HERE... I like the sound of the drummer better (deep and smooooth). I think you need to work on shifting through 1st and 2nd a little quicker as the power comes on fast. In all fairness though, my drummer is on a 12 not a 9. Shoot me an email if you want haven't seen the dynos for the drummer on a XB9... it shows them against a D&D and a race kit. every pipe is going to offer you something a little different sound and performance wise. All seem to be built very well (except FORCE). I KNOW the Dummer is. Good luck.

Like was said earlier there are alot of choices, it kind of depends on what you want, and what you want to spend. I have the D&D and love it, you can't beat that sound, but it is fairly pricey, 535.00 with the bad web discount.

Lots of people here like the drummer, I think it goes for about 350.00. However you have to send them your stock can so they can fab the drummer out of it. What is the price of a stock can? I don't know but add that on to the price of the drummer because you are not going to have it anymore. To the ones that have the drummer it probably doesn't matter, but it makes the drummer more costly than you think.

I have resently been hearing about the Jardine pipe, good things it seems. Supposed to be quite loud, and I believe someone said it Dynoed better than the drummer. Now I don't know if that is fact or not, but I imagine someone will have something to say about it sooner or later. The Jardine is supposed to go for 250.00, and if everything is true about it, that sounds hard to beat.

Oh, and there is also one by Force, well never mind about that one......

I have a race kit on my XB9R currently - my Drummer is on the way. Unfortunately I can't give my opinion on both for a few months.

The Drummer, D&D, and Buell Race Kit have jacking points under the muffler. The Wileyco, Jardine, and Force pipes do not. You might want to factor in the price of wheel stands too, if you do your own service. : )

(I'm still running stock exhaust, I like the looks of the Wileyco, the dyno of the Force, and the sound of the Drummer)

A pic of the drummer would be great. I'm gonna look into the Jardine can as well. I've seen stock mufflers on ebay that aren't too bad, but I don't know the price brand new so I won't be able to gauge what kind of deal I am getting. Thanks for the input and I'm glad to be a part of this BBS.
