I have been off the board for the winter as I have been busy, but what does it do exactly?

It is cheap enough to warrant buying as I still have to get the ecu and filter for my Drummer.

Best performance upgrade you can do for $35. You'll feel the difference, smooths everything out.

Try it you'll like it!

For best results, get the XB12 air cleaner cover, the (K&N) race filter, and remove the air intake snorkel. You will feel and hear a difference and everything smooths out as Glitch said.

As to what the XB12 cover does, I don't know the physics involved but it increases air flow efficiency into the velocity stack. More air, more power.

Mike.

"As to what the XB12 cover does, I don't know the physics involved but it increases air flow efficiency into the velocity stack. More air, more power."

The Yamaha Sportbike brochure on page 4 says: "R1 now feeds upon its own speed with a pair of ram-air scoops force-feeding a more compact airbox. Air velocity is exchanged for air pressure, the result is more power."

That's pretty much what the XB12 airbox cover does compared to the 9, right?
