I thought these looked cool.

The website...http://www.hpsidecar.com/new/new.htm

They are Made in America. Wonder if it could fit on a Buell?

I'd love to have a Ural for winter time.

As a former Equalean owner, a leaning sidecar like the Equalean or Flexit that leans with the bike is a lot of fun. It really attracts attention especially when going through the twisties!

A friend and me owned Ural's for a few years. We both put 10 - 15,000 miles on them. They're the biggest pieces of junk I've ever owned. My windshield cracked before I even got home, several alternators caught on fire, gas tanks cracked and leaked, transmissions ground to dust and the fuse boxes constantly got "sloppy". Sidecars are tons of fun but I'd rather walk than own another Ural.

PS. I know Ural keeps saying that they're so much better now but they told us the same thing when we bought ours (late 1990's).

I know next to nothing about sidecars. Does the standard setup have the third wheel even, fore and aft, with the bikes rear wheel? If not, wheelies could be interesting.

My dad used to have a sidecar on his bike that my brother and I would ride in. It was fine until he was going down the highway at 50mph, and noticed the sidecar wheel about 3 inches off the ground spinning at about 20rpm with us in it. It was being held up in the air by aerodynamics. That was enough. I don't do sidecars.

If the sidecar's wheel is driven (2 wheel drive), yes.
If it's not, it's usually mid-way between the front and rear.

Additional ballast in the sidecar may have helped prevent that. It can be a scary/dangerous thing if you are not expecting it and don't understand the whole steering reversion concept.

Shifting the position of car fore and aft in relation to where the rear wheel changes how the hack rides ... going one way helps with straight line stability, but hurts turning ... gotta find the sweet spot.

I loaded a spare battery (6-volt) along with all my spares and some tools into the 'trunk' to keep the car from flying ... but with only 12hp when she was new (almost 60 years ago), there's little chance of breaking the sound barrier ... but she looks good trying

We have the SRA out racing at Willow 4 times a year. Watching them in tech inspection or their pits lets you see LOTS of different vehicles. Everybody has their own ideas on what is the BEST (for their money)

And man, they are FUN to watch racing!

You ride Ural, you WRENCH Ural.

If you dont wrench... its not your bike.

My crazy friends Vlad, Yuri, Oleg and Aleixi have all logged over 50k on theirs. Great machines... as long as you understand the limitations of said machine. The patrol in Orange is on my list to get
