I'm looking to get a lightning this riding season. And one thing that concerns me is the passenger compartment. Is there a fold down backrest she could use when riding and I could fold it down when im by myself?

I used a ventura rack. Put the small grab bar on it for solo riding, and the tall rack on it for 2-up.

Disclaimer: The ventura rack is NOT meant to be used as a sissy bar. It should not be leaned upon, or rested upon, but it is GREAT to have the peace of mind that the passenger can't slide off the back.

There are also aftermarket Corbin seats available and I believe most of them have a slot to insert a back rest.
