So, I'm 5'4 and the scg is really the only bike I've ever sat on where half my challenge of motorcycle skill didn't revolve around stoplight balancing, avoidance of hill stops, backing up, and reaching the handlebars!

I've got my 06 12XBscg

I only put 92-93 premium in her, I've put in a 07 inner airbox for flow, high flow airfilter, put in special ops thermal barriers, and a special ops pipe. Got the bike dyno'd/tuned/flashed after all the upgrades.

Gonna put on a xblight once the smoked version comes out and was thinking about getting my header thermal coated this year as well.

I like the no maintance belt.

So what else am I missing that I could do for a moderate sum of money? Or is it time to personalize it as I've made it the best it can be performance/ridewise?

LOL keeping in mind I don't race And the bike has more ability then I ever will!

Now with buell inc no more, I've looked around at other eye candy....but I still feel like my buell is the best sounding, best fit, and dead sexy bike out there!

Oh and I changed over to synthetic as well. Before the dyno I had the bike looked over, new plugs wires all that kinda stuff.

open air box kit
breather re-route
ECM spy (race ECM if you can get one)
better plugs
progressive suspension
brake pads
rotors
Brembo rear caliper
handlebars

after that I'd say personalize and have fun : )

You've got plenty more performance left in the bike, just add a turbo.

1. Move to Georgia or California where there is a longer riding season, and the roads have a few curves in them.

2. Take a couple of trackdays so you learn how to handle above mentioned curves.

3. Learn how to best set up your suspension for #2, above.

4. If you still want to spend some money,
get some great tires like Dunlop Q2's.

5. Check out my profile for another 50 ways to piss away your hard earned money on your bike.

Hope that helps.

lol.

I had a buddy move to California after buying a new 07 Honda RR (or whatever their top sport bike was then)

3 days after moving in to his apartment his bike was stolen, lol.

Took nearly a month for the insurance company to get him the money. But he bought a sweet RC51 with the money. I love this bike. Awesome sounding.

I think a turbo would be out of my wife's idea of "spending" money for this year.

Not to mention WAY out of my skill level, unless someone comes up with a kit or has simple step by step instructions, lol!

The breaks sound like a really good idea. Stopping is always good.

suggestions from everyone on best pads and upgrades for the breaks?

not much better in Milwaukee,

however TODAY was a great ride, little nippy but worth the smile.

Hand guards or heated grips might be an upgrade as well for this year, lol

full leathers are a bit spendy for a "couple" time events. Although my buddy "dapope" said doing some track days was one of the best experiences in his life.....so something to consider.

and um.......look at the picture above....put full leather on the dude......yeah that's me

not pretty, lol.

I picked up a Frank Thomas 1 piece leather at Cycle Gear for only $300. Nothing fancy, and it pisses me off as it sucks for commuting, but it is cheap and gets the job done.

Some track day sponsors will also line up rentals on leathers. Check into your local options, maybe you won't need to buy anything but some good boots and gauntlet type gloves if you don't have them now.

A track day, with safety rules that are enforced, can be a great way to not only get a good bead on where your skills are at but give you plenty of room to grow and learn as well.

Spartan leathers offers custom suits and low prices, I'll probably go that way next time I want a leather suit. ANd from the prices I spent nearly as much on my Tourmaster nylon suit (flex2 and flex pants).
