It may be my imagination but I think the XBrs' fairing sits low and long. I'm wondering if a front head lift stand exists that doesn't interfere with the fairing? I need to mention the sole purpose of getting this stand is to service and or to remove fork tubes using the stand alone. It needs to lift high enough yet be compatible with the body work, I can always take the fairing off but I'm looking for convenience as well, I always want alot I know =) ........

the pin is 18mm, or #2 supposedly... and be careful which one you buy. the cheap ebay ones aren't tall enough to get the wheel off the ground. and if they were, you'd have clearance issues with the fairing. you need one where the pin is angled away from the arm. so when the pin is in the triple, the arm is at a downward angle. if that makes any sense.

Ok Glitch I checked it out PB makes one a pin #7 I was hoping for a less expensive alternative, but I guess you can't go wrong with this one .

Thanks!

Froggy the height looks pretty good on that PB.

I'm realizing the only reason I want a head lift is to remove fork tubes, I was assuming they were all high enough, that's where I got into trouble ,as always when I assume.........

I'm wondering if a head lift is what I need after all or should I make a double a frame dealy......... I sure would like the convenience of a head lift though.

T-Rex's work just fine for me. How often do you really use/need the stands. Projects here and there, and then for winter storage, save yourself some coin.

Thanks Boney95,

I already have a set of stands that work very well and were not that much. I use them every time I park the bike at my home,
and whenever the need arises .

I'm needing a solution so that I can jack up the front of the bike in such a way that I can remove the fork tubes. I was thinking a head lift was this solution, mainly because it attached to the bottom of the triple tree, leaving the fork tubes free for removal, But now I'm not sure if it'll get the front end high enough to pull the fork tubes out after all......

Any thoughts on this?

Do you have a stock muffler or modified one that has the original jack point? If so, why not just use a jack to get the front end up. Save you a bunch of money on a front triple stand if you have stands that work and only want to use it to pull to fork tubes?

I dont think youll be able to get high enough either. I took my forks off during winter here, but I had the bike up high on a jack. Might have to buy a jack.

best lift is a harbor freight cherry picker or a 2 ton chain fall connected across the garage roof. With the chain fall or cherry picker you will need to use 2 straps to stabalize bike from tipping on its side. This can happen very easy my husband had a gsxr1000 hanging an inch away from the cement on its side from not using straps.

I thought about that too, I'd like something more stable though , I'd rather spend a few bucks and have it secure .

That PB looks like it might be high enough I'll have to investigate it more.

Fudge1340 that's more in line of my current thinking I have no ceiling attachment points so it looks like a cherry picker or engine hoist........

More than an inch. As you see here, at the lowest setting it's about an inch high. It would be a close call at the highest setting. It might work?

Adam ,are the adjustment holes 1" apart as well?

Have you tried lifting with a higher setting?

I just took a measurement and I need 13" from the bottom of the right leg to the ground and that should do it.

Thanks for all your help.

Not sure about the 1" between settings, maybe 1/2-3/4" if my memory serves me well. My bike is stored at my bros so I'm not near it to check.

No I haven't had it at the highest setting. The reason why I have it set at the lowest is because that setting matches the rear height the best. Wanted to keep the weight evenly distributed for storage.

So far the Trex stand in the pic interests me the most because of it's adjustable height.

How is the adjustment made? I see the 2 pins, are there detents or 2 more pins that keep the upper part rigid and not allow it to swing or move?

it's supposed to swing and move. you put it on after you get the rear up.

trex's are fairly inexpensive as well. $80 on egay.
