According to my new Motorcyclist reports... "ATK, America's only off-road motorcycle manufacturer plans to sell Korean cruisers at Harley dealerships." WTF!!! Can HD possibly be more F'ed up! Shame on you ATK! (Motorcyclist, April 2010, page 18) |

props for being american...but harley is retarted!!!! buell was developing an american dirt bike plus they already had other bikes that were amazing! why kill off a great brand, that has great potential, and say u want to focus on selling slow cruisers, then decide to sell a random dirt bike co. from their shops?!!! |

Repost, if you read the article, its a handful of dealers. This is not endorsed at all by the Mothership. It is no different than my local dealer that sells Vespas or hand made trailers. |

" I will ask them about what they know about ATK!" and they will look at you with a dumber look than when you ask them what they know about Buell |

10 grand for a two stroke dirt bike ? It does seem a bit steep, until you look at the specs. That suspension ain't cheep. 238lbs with 78HP That's a better HP:LBS ratio than your bike! Use their Motard Kit http://www.atkmotorsports.com/sales/2007/december/ 2008MotardKit.pdf Unbelievable fun! Or... http://www.atkmotorsports.com/news/2007/documents/ 2008ATK450SMSpecs.pdf with the http://www.atkmotorsports.com/sales/2007/december/ 2008DualSportKit.pdf and the squid would have no chance up in the hills. |

Does atk still use Rotax engines? I remember when I was a kid I wanted an ATk so badly because they was the only american dirt bike and they used rotax engines. I looked on there site but it does not look like they still do. (Message edited by firebolt020283 on March 04, 2010) |

Light bikes are stupid fun. I have a hopped up KDX-200 that is probably 225 pounds, and makes probably close to 40 hp now. Wheeeeeee! It's literally a "dial a wheelie" bike in the first three gears. I'm a good but not great rider, and on a 17 RWHP 1985 KLR-250 at deals gap with dual sport rubber, I could easily chase down any sportbike not dragging a knee. I can't explain why, the suspension on that bike sucked, and the rubber wasn't super sticky, but it would just carve through those turns effortlessly. I started behind a group of sportbikes, and stayed glued to them for the first 1/3 of the run up from the camp ground and had lots of margin left. They eventually decided to rocket down the straights, and I wasn't interested in playing that game with them (and couldn't even if I wanted anyway). I would gain on them in the turns, they would vanish in the straights. It was about 4 minutes after they finally got out of my sight doing that when I came around a corner to see them talking to the Blount county sherrif... Couldn't imagine doing that on the KDX-200 with good sticky street rubber... the thing would FLY through a road like that without breaking a sweat. But that being said, I still wouldn't pay $10k for one. |

I guess the point I was trying to make was this... Just another so called "American" company selling cheap, foreign, product just to get maximum profit, with no regard for patriotism or pride! I will pay more to have my "toys" made in America. I have been saving my pennies to buy an ATK, but now... ATK! and Harley Davidson! God Bless America |

"238lbs with 78HP That's a better HP:LBS ratio than your bike!" It's going to have big HP....it's a two stroke. My stock 500cc snowmobile puts out 100HP ! My point is...not too many folks race MX or Supercross with two strokes anymore. They are a thing of the past, you can buy a Honda CR for almost half that price. } |

Hey Union Man, H-D isn't selling anything but H-D. Some H-D dealerships are selling other bikes along side H-D. There is a difference. They need to sell something, cause H-D ain't selling. |

ATK is re-badging Korean crap in an attempt to fool the consumer. If it is Korean crap, just say so! FU ATK!!! HD discontinued a great American brand that put out a quality product that is competitive. In the process sent hard working Americans home jobless. HD gave up on a motorcycle that FINALLY placed 1st in an AMA competition. I guess that PRIDE in being first or winning is irrelevant to the suits at HD! HD killed the production of an American motorcycle that was innovative, forward thinking, and relevant. All for what? More room on the sales floor for cheap Chinese scooters or Korean motorcycles in sheep’s clothing? FU HD! |

Well I guess if you wanna get technical, Buell was "rebadging" a lot of imported "crap" and selling it as American as well. Chinese wheels, Canadian engines, Japanese suspension, etc, etc. ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on March 04, 2010) |
