Can I remove the carbon canister on my xb? Will it cause any check engine lights at all? I am looking for a little more storage area and then eventually putting a xb9s tail section on the bike. And I have a feeling that that would have to go.
Speaking of that, is the seat frame different for the xbs than it is for the xbr?

You can remove it with no ill effect. It's just a tank vent fume remover. the 49 state bikes don't have it.

The set frame on the S is those cast rails you can see from the outside. The R has a less cosmetic tube frame because it is completely hidden by the bodywork.

When I pull the canister, what do i do with the hoses? Just plug them? I haven't looked at it so I don't know off hand how many there are (1 or 2) and where they go or come from.

Keep the one that goes from the tank breather, let it run to some place where it can breathe and drip a drop of gas if parked in the sunlight. Yank everything else.

I'm extrapolating from Tube frame canister yanking procedures, I assume the XBs do it similar though.
