I'll be purchasing a used xb12stt in a few months, and was wondering what the known issues are.
Stator is the same as the problematic Uly stator. Are there wheel bearing issues?

Juan,

Check here. I asked the question when I got mine in Dec.

May cause an overwhelming smile that will take you weeks or even years to deal with. Get it, ride it and fix it if it breaks.

That's the biggest problem I found. I was so excited while the bike was in development that I flew to East Troy and spent a day wringing one out . . . it's a REALLY great bike. Don't be fooled by the "parts bin" mumble-jumble . . the bike is really well sorted out and a ton of fun.

Court, those are great photos.

I just bought a used one with less than a year of use, just under 4K miles. Only problem I see is the yellow airbox, but it doesn't look as bad in person as the pictures do.

I wonder if the muffler will rust like the Uly's do? I'm considering powder coating it, I'll at least put a couple coats of heat resistant black on it for longevity's sake.

The only problem I know of with the STT is I don't own one. If you search on Youtube there is a really good video Danger_Dave did on them that will make you want to own one really bad.

Firebolt020283, it did (along with the awesome track session out at the Miller Motorsports Park), and now I do.

Glitch, thanks; that cinches it, now I gotta pull that thing off.

Well now I've got switchgear from the Uly's heated grips, and a relay, and the Aprilia mirrors, and a shop manual (plus maybe the owner manual too) coming from American Sport Bike, Yehaw, Thanks Al!

Now to order a Laminar Lip for it too, all this stuff should help make it an all weather machine.

The only problem with mine is it sat too close to a Uly and a firebolt one day and came home like this....

I've got the Uly switch gear on the right side robbed from my Cyclone to run the 'lectric grips already put on, I hope to have the install on those done tomorrow, pending a few bits of wire, some splices, and stealing the right hand guard from the Cyclone as well (the one it came with is cracked).

Bought it right after it hit the market. ZERO mechanical troubles.
