The Ulysses has 2x 12V power outlets, one in the front & one under the seat. Do you think I could put a splitter on the one under the seat to charge two 12V devices at once? I.E. Cell phone + Camera charger... ect? I am taking a big trip in May. I want to run an extension from the under seat to a tail bag & a splitter to charge two devices? You think this would put two much strain on the 12v system? Guess worst case I blow a fuse right? }

Yes you can do it. I recommend you use zip ties and rubber bands to hold all the plugs together, they tend to vibrate out easily. Personally, I run the cellphone and GPS off the front one, and a mini fridge off the rear. |

About the power capacity, if I remember right, both outlets are shared on the same line with a 10 amp fuse, so you would be able to use up to about 120 watts. Most full size laptops are in the 60-90w range, so you will be fine with a phone and other various small electronics. |

Froggy, you are not joking are you!! I see the cord running under the seat!! Holy crap! I run my GPS off the front and my XM radio off the rear. Since my XM radio cord was just 2" short to properly bury the cable, I had put a splitter under my seat. It just happened that on our labor day trip around Lake Superior, I did use the split outlet to charge my BlueAnt communicator on the highway. Of course, this is not a huge load with these three devices, and nothing like froggy's fridge!! I would probably not recommend letting the wife plug in the Power inverter to fire up the electric blanket though or blend margaritas on the interstate! |
